Great B&B in the Lake Champlain area

If you are ever in the Eastern Adirondacks or Lake Champlain area and are looking for a great place to stay this is the place. We could not have been luckier than to have Mark and Sharon as our wonderful hosts. They were very accommodating. We chose to stay in the Adirondack Cottage on the premises which served our purposes perfectly. It was private, clean, and very uniquely decorated in its own Adirondack flair. It was even better than the photos on the web site. On a scale of 10 we would rate it an 11 or 12. It was the beginning of a perfect week long vacation in the Lake Champlain area and on the way to Quebec.

OUR FIRST STAY AT A BED & BREAKFAST

- My husband and I went away to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and decided to stay at the Schroon Lake B&B. Having never stayed at a B&B before, we didn't know what to expect. It ended up being one of the best decisions we ever made! It was absolutely beautiful, and we had no problems/complaints at all. We stayed upstairs in The Leland, which has a separate sitting area directly across the hallway. Our room, sitting area and private bath were spotlessly clean and so adorable! The main living room (lobby) and dining room are just as beautiful and Mark and Sharon make you feel so comfortable. They had the woodstove going and there was music playing softly in the background. The breakfast is delicious and very filling. Mark and Sharon make sure you have everything you need and are wonderful hosts. We will definitely go back and have already recommended it to friends and family. Next time, maybe it will be a little warmer so we can enjoy the beautiful porch! Loved It So Much

I first stayed here in late August and loved it so much I returned with my family around the holidays in late December. A great time was had by all! Everything was very clean and the food was wonderful. Our hosts recommended some great hiking trails that were accessible even with the snow. We went skating at the Olympic rink in Lake Placid and took in the wonderful scenery around Schrron Lake itself. I have traveled for many years and to many places and would list these accomidations in my top 3 favorite places to stay. Will definately return again and again!

A Wonderful Getaway

Mark and Sharon, the innkeepers, welcome you into their lovely home with the warmest regard of hospitality. They make you feel special, like family. When sitting in the inn's livingroom with the fireplace and soothing music or in your own private sitting room you enjoy the peacefulness this inn provides. The breakfast is served looking like a masterpiece, just beautiful, and absolutely delicious! We have stayed at this B&B more than once and we will definitely be back!

Staying at the Schroon Lake B&B

We arrived to the wonderful smell of a wood fire and the wonderful greetings of Sharon & Mark. The B&B is charming and elegant all at the same time. The room (Leland) was quaint, comfy, and clean. Breakfast was fit for a king. We'll be back

I look forward to going back!

Mark & Sharon, were exceptional hosts. I couldn't take advantage of the wonderful breafast they would have prepared especially for me, so they allowed me to make my own meals & catered wonderfully to my dietary needs. I was able to have a worry free & quiet get away. I also recieved a nice discount because I took my kids to the Word of Life Snow Camp. The suite I stayed in was a complete haven. Thanks, guys.

Terrific Experience

Mark and Sharon were wonderful hosts -- extremely service oriented and professional. The Adirondack Cottage was clean, roomy and private with plenty of room for a family of 3 or 4, and a wonderful gas fireplace which is perfect for Adirondack winters. The breakfasts were amazing—delicious fresh fruit and warm baked goods, in addition to gourmet omelets, breakfast meats, and even Belgian waffles with a warm fruit reduction. The afternoon snacks and tea service were just the right touch. Mark and Sharon went out of their way to offer snacks they knew would appeal to children and adults alike, and they were quick to accommodate our schedule. This is an immaculate inn, a great value, and we will return again and again

Schroon Lake Wonderland

We were extremely impressed with the Schroon Lake Bed & Breakfast. Our rooms were beautiful with a great decor. Our host Sharon & Mark made us feel at home. Breakfast was plentiful & delicious. All the comforts of home!

My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying at the Schrool Lake Bed and Breakfast twice past year. Mark and Sharon went out of their way to our stay perfect. From waking up to a fire in the fireplace (we were there in the winter!!), very comfy accommodations which included a private sitting area with a refrigerator and a tasty breakfast created by Mark with great care, our stay was perfect. We wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Schroon Lake!

Memorial Day

What a lovely B&B! Clean, freshly decorated, generous room size (the cabin), all amenities e.g.two umbrellas in the room), attentive host & hostess eager to please, ample breakfast is notably attractive, home-baked bread and tea-time nibble freshbaked from scratch, hot drinks all day, large porch or main-house common room or screened pergola for a rainy afternoon, ample deli two doors up the road for take-out picnic (I had lamb on pita). We brought bikes and a good book.

The Finest B & B Experience You'll Ever Have

From the moment we were greeted as we arrived, everything from the food and its gourmet preparation and presentation, to the beautifully-appointed, clean rooms, beautiful grounds and informative and lively conversation, our experience with this B & B was incredible! Sharon and Mark made us feel at home and relaxed. Here, we were so comfortable, and you can be as private as you would like. In our case, the Pipers were very knowledgeable about the area, which helped us a great deal. This is a vacation spot to visit! We're going back this summer

The Best Little Inn in New York!!!!

lovely weekend in Schroon Lake

A friend and I came up for the Lake Placid Marathon, and found ourselves at Schroon Lake. Sharon and Mark went out of their way to take care of us, even waking up at 5am to get us breakfast before the race. A lovely spot and wonderful people.

Relaxing Retreat in the Adirondacks

The Schroon Lake B&B was a wonderfully pleasant experience for us. Our first impressions from the beautiful gardens, the welcoming front porch with its comfortable wicker furniture, and the soothing sounds of quiet music and an outdoor waterfall upon entering the living room set the tone for a relaxing weekend getaway. The Mountain View Suite was extremely comfortable and gets our vote for the top accommodation in the house. Sharon and Mark are enthusiastic owners/hosts who make you feel quite at home and are anxious to help in any way they can. I won't spoil the surprise of the breakfasts, but I will say dining on the front porch and tasting "divinely delicious" creations rather captures the experience!

Lovely, homey place to stay!

We were in the middle of the Adirondacks late at night and needed to find a place to stay at the last moment. After reading favorable reviews about Schroon Lake B&B online, we contacted Schroon Lake B&B to see about availability. They happened to have a room left and were gracious enough to wait up for us as a late arrival close to 9PM! What a pleasant surprise to arrive at such a lovely welcoming place to stay after a long day on the road filled with busy vacationing plans. We were warmly welcomed by Sharon, the hostess, and I was led to a delightful, spotless Victorian room. The A/C in the room was great on a hot, humid, muggy day. The bed was absolutely perfect, and I sank into a deep sleep in just minutes after arriving, very much at ease in such immaculate surroundings -- everything seems new. The next morning -- after sleeping in to recover from a whirlwind day the day before (the place was so quiet, it was easy to do!) -- I thought I was too late for breakfast as I came down to check out at 11 AM. I was quite surprised when the door into the dining room slid open and Mark, the host at the B&B, came in to greet me with a platter of fresh fruit and freshly baked muffin made up just for me! It was just what I needed to start the day. Both Sharon and Mark were extremely gracious and welcoming, the rooms are spotless and the dining impeccable. I would surely recommend

Our Second Time Around

We had stayed at Schroon Lake Bed & Breakfast before under the prior owners Jane & Jack so we knew what to expect for rooms,service,value and cleanliness. However the food was 5 star. Marc is a fantastic cook, no Chef! Each day he said the next day would be better and he was right. We will be staying there for one night in August as we have business in the area and can hardly wait to see what he comes up with for our Third Time Around. We most definately recommend to all.

An Anniversary Adirondack Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Schroon Lake B&B! It was such a pleasure to meet Mark and Sharon, and their hospitability made us feel so welcome. It is so rare to find the perfect combination of charm, ambiance, beautiful lodging, location, breakfast cuisine and terrific hosts, and they certainly provided all that to their guests. Schroon Lake B&B

Excellent accommodations! Wonderful food! Sharon and Mark were great, friendly, knowledgeable of the surrounding area, really made you feel at home. Loved sitting on the front porch in the morning, drinking, and watching the sunrise over the mountains - and then Mark would pop out with one of his marvelous pastries. Grounds were beautiful! One of the highlights was sitting on the front porch one evening and hearing Mark play his guitar and sing one of his sets. We will be going back!

Outstanding, tranquil retreat

Fantastic service and amazing food. High quality from the moment we arrived. This turned out to be our favorite place that we stayed on our honeymoon. The nearby town is quaint, picturesque, and the innkeepers are quick with recommendations and advice regarding the surrounding area. The common area is tranquil and relaxing and the breakfast terrace is the perfect place to begin your Adirondack day. I wish we could have taken their Sun Tea recipe. The afternoon welcome cookies and morning scones are lovely!

Jewel of the Adirondacks

We stayed two days and throughly enjoyed it. Mark and Sharon were wonderful and treated us like family, maybe even better. Breakfast was gormet specialties every morning. Sight seeing advise was right on. The inn was spacious, beautiful and clean. Schroon Lake is the Adirondacks without the crowds. Our last stay was over twenty years ago. We were glad to be back.

SO AMAZING

We stayed here for 6 nights and had the absolute best time. Mark and Sharon are incredibly kind and accommodating, and Mark is a FANTASTIC cook! The breakfasts were to die for. In addition to that, they are totally accommodating of food restrictions - I have Celiac's disease and we were served delicious gluten free breakfasts every day, and when he would put out pastries or cookies throughout the day there was always a gluten free option. Also, be sure to check out Mark at the open mic at Witherbee's on Thursdays - he's a fantastic guitar player! We will definitely be returning here next time we are in town

Amazing!

Booked this B and B because we couldn't get into another closer to our family. Lucky choice for us. From the spacious air conditioned room to the soft towels, every detail was attended too. The hosts are so friendly and gracious (I could tell that just from the phone call, booking the reservation). There was always a fresh and delicious, home baked goodie to snack on in the pretty dining room, Mark played the guitar and sang for us in the living room and moved our gourmet breakfast out to the sunny front porch in the morning. I love that they are open year round and can't wait to go back!!

My family and i stayed in the Adirondak cabin at Schroon Lake BnB. The acommodations were beautiful and perfect for our stay. Mark and Sharon were wonderful hosts and so inviting. I ran the Adirondack Marathon starting from Schroon Lake. Mark and Sharon were so helpful-Mark gave me great advice for the race itself and Sharon was so helpful for my family as spectators! They even had a special early breakfast for the runners! I would recommend their place highly!

Beautiful, Comfortable, Clean & Delicious

This B&B offers an enchanting front porch upon arrival that is enough to seal the deal for you but add to it a spotless room with a comfortable night's sleep and a delectable breakfast that will put you in a food coma and you'll no sooner be booking your next stay.The Host's are neighborly & sociable while also giving you privacy and solitude. I'm easily wary with where I stay but this place is now on my trusted and loved list.

Relaxing & Charming

This was a return visit for my husband and me. The B&B is maintained beautifully. The decor has old world charm, the guest rooms each have an adjoining sitting room with TV and frig, making one's stay adaptable to different sleep habits. The wrap around porch offers a lovely view and an great way to start or end the day. Mark creates beautiful and delicious breakfasts. Proximity to hiking, the local beach and restaurants makes this a lovely spot

Mark and Sharon are pros at running the Schroon Lake B&B and have all of the nice touches down. We returned after 5 years for our family reunion to Schroon Lake and enjoyed everything here just a nicely as before, all made comfortable and personal by our hosts. We rented two of the upstairs rooms in the house for our adult children and my husband and I stayed in the cottage. Very comfortable, great food, and quite fun. thanks again!

Rest and Relaxation at Its best

From the moment we arrived Mark and Sharon made us feel like valued guests at their B & B. Our room was ready (Mountain View room) and clean and inviting. We had a separate sitting area that was comfortable and relaxing. Our goal for our vacation (my boyfriend and I) was to get away from work and the hustle bustle of life and staying here afforded us the opportunity to do just that! I can't say enough about the food! The breakfasts were tasty, hearty and fabulous. Fresh fruit, wonderful main courses (no secrets revealed Mark) and the best mid afternoon snacks ever! We felt spoiled and it was the best experience we have had in a long time. Thank you Mark and Sharon for allowing us the ability to chill and be waited on. We definitely will be back and I recommend them highly.

Relaxing and Fun Get Away!

Mark greeted Mike and I outside when we arrived! As we walked in, he briefly explained coffee etc..and baked goods times before breakfast and times for breakfast. With a Big smile, he helped my husband carry our suitcases in. The bed and breakfast is what I would call "Victorian Light". Beautiful well maintained furniture (some antiques) beautifully decorated. The rooms are very clean and comfortable! Sharon and Mark welcomed and served us every morning! His bake goods in the AM and PM truly melt in your mouth. The freshness and taste of his bake goods are done with love(passion). We had no need during our time there. The place is well thought out/managed. If you want to relax and read: beautiful porch outside and parlor inside. Their front and backyard have beautiful flowers and shrubbery!! The place is centrally located to Fort Ticonderoga, Lake George, hiking areas, white water rafting, and much more. One can over plan their days or not plan at all. This B and B has plenty of information to help you decide what you want to do. We will definitely return next summer. Mark has other talents like singing and playing the guitar. Sharon and Mark thank you so much for living out your talents to make our stay so enjoyable! Did I say the breakfasts are amazing!

Wonderful stay

This was our first time stay in B&B.. Mark and Sharon were so wonderful people and made us comfortable in every way... Breakfast was awesome which had lots of Mark's culinary skills... the cottage was very beautiful and this trip made us special because of the right choice we made with our stay

So welcoming!!

The Inn is very welcoming and Mark and Sharon are wonderful hosts. Mark was very accommodating as two of our three morning departures times did not coincide with scheduled breakfast hours. Mark rose early and made us just what we asked for!! I hope we will be able to return and explore the area more thoroughly!!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Mark and Sharon were great. Their house is beautiful in every aspect. Decor, clean, soft music, everything was great. We would probably chose a room with a TV next time but not a big deal. They did advertise no one under 16 but there was a young girl there staying in the back house no big deal just to let you know if you don't want that at breakfast. We were so fortunate and eat outside both morning on the front porch

Birthday Tour through from NYC to Montreal

A truly wonderful house, warm and gracious hosts! Mark and Sharon are a very welcoming and caring couple. If you love sitting at an open fire with a cozy blanket snugged up around you, while soft piano music is playing, sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying homemade pastry - Schroon Lake B&B is the place to be! Large and tastefully decorated rooms, a vast DVD collection and an acoustic guitar to play at the open fireplace are a lovely addition. An utterly yummy breakfasts made leaving even harder. We loved staying at Schroon Lake B&B so much!

Charming B&B

Recently spent the weekend there. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a warm crackling fire and tranquil music (very inviting). The innkeepers (Mark & Sharon) are very pleasant and go out of their way to make you feel at home. We will definitely stay there again

Schroon Lake B&B: A Relaxing Getaway

A friend and I spent 3 nights at Schroon Lake B&B mid June of 2014. We were wow at every turn. We roomed in their Adirondack cabin, two queen beds with a private bathroom unattached from the main house. The cabin was decorated in a forest motif: bears, pine cones, tree branches filled the room. Each morning Mark cooked a lovely breakfast. There was fresh fruit, baked goods (muffins?) of some sort with an array of teas, coffee, and juices every day. We had blueberry waffles with sausagelinks the first morning, fluffy omelettes with bacon the second morning, and french toast with raspberry deliciousness on top the third morning. They took note and catered to any sort of dietary restrictions that we had (they also let me take pictures while Mark served breakfast in his official chef shirt). Further, they served drinks and snacks each day at 4: chocolate chip cookies, biscotti, and cake pops. Mark and Sharon definitely go the extra mile. They gave us recommendations for places to get dinner, pointed out places we could have a relatively flat run in the area (wait at least an hour after such a rich breakfast before exercise), had hiking guide books on hand and even had a movie library with bags of microwave popcorn for evening entertainment. Further, when I asked about a movie that was not on their shelf they went and rented it from the local library. Schroon Lake B&B is an oasis of relaxation and we look forward to going back again next year.

Lovely B&B

The innkeepers Mark and Sharon were such lovely and gracious hosts to my husband and I. The B&B was beautiful and cozy, the breakfast and afternoon refreshments delightful ....and the way we were made to feel at home and special was amazing. Definitely a "must stay" B&B.

Great stop along the history trail

My wife and I were visiting Ft. Ticonderoga and Crown Point...well more for me than for her since I'm the history buff...and we needed a place to stay nearby. While surfing the web a few months back we came across this little place, booked it and are we glad we did. Sharon couldn't have been more welcoming. In fact we were given a free upgrade out of Sharon's concern that a meeting she was hosting would disturb us in the room we originally booked. Quite thoughtful and the room was great. The place is beautiful and very comfortable. We met Sharon's mom and aunt who were visiting and we shared a delightful breakfast prepared by Mark who engaged us all in a thoroughly enjoyable morning conversation. We felt right at home. It's obvious that Mark and Sharon treat their guests as friends rather than customers. A B&B with wonderful Inn Keepers

Sharon & Mark were EVERYTHING and MORE of what we expected as our B&B Inn Keepers. They have a gift of making you feel special!!! We drove from Florida to visit our grandson atthe Word of Life Camp. The home is beautiful; but even more than that, are the Inn Keepers who treat you very special. They made our stay not only comfortable, but with several extra touches,they gave us treasured memories to remember and share about our trip to Schroon Lake, New York. We were a long way from home but still had and enjoyed Southern Hospitality.For a weekend get a way or Honeymoon, this B&B would be perfect. You can certainly see that Mark and Sharon love their role as being your Bed & Breakfast Inn Keeper.

Very Enjoyable

Our stay at the Schroon Lake B & B was what could only be described as near perfect! From the minute we entered the front door we new this was going to be a nice place to stay. Almost immediatly we felt a sence of warmth and comfort surround us. Mark and Sharon are very good at making you feel at home. We left there feeling we knew them for years only having met them for 3 days. We highly recomend a trip to Schroon Lake B & B . You wouldn't regret it!

Great stay!

The Inn is very comfortable and clean. We stayed in the Adirondack cottage which had everything we needed. Mark and Sharon are very friendly and breakfast was great. We will go back for sure!
