What a glorious find!!

This was my first bed and breakfast experience and although I was not sure what to expect, 4 East Madison Inn is a true treasure. Each room we peeked into was decorated with glorious antiques and the entire experience was impressive. Betty is well versed in not only the history of her inn but was extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and things to see in the Mt. Vernon area. She put us at ease, created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and was more than willing to answer all of our questions and concerns. The bathroom necessities were the top of the line. When we called to ask about parking Betty met us at the front door and directed us to the proper area, met us there, and offered to assist with our luggage. Breakfast was delicious and our experience with simply wonderful. Although the inn is up for sale, I really hope that it remains as is so we can visit again. Sorry Betty!! It would be a shame for this property to be broken up for apartments. The location put us exactly where we had access to all of the things we wanted to see. L. Holmok
