You'll never want to leave!

This is definitely a place you'll never want to leave, but when you do you will be planning your next trip before you are in your car! The staff was amazing; very warm and welcoming! They made every second of the stay enjoyable and stress free. I would highly recommend the cooking class regardless of your skill level, it's fun for everyone! I can't say one bad thing about the Abingdon Manor Inn. I can't wait to return, what a wonderful experience!

a great place for Chelsea!

A lovely home with great breakfasts in an elegant atmosphere. We stayed there before on-site dinners were available, so that makes it appealing to return for another visit someday!

Perfect getaway

I took my wife to Abingdon Manor for her birthday to spend the night. We ate dinner there that evening. I have never eaten such a perfect meal in my life. The owners were very friendly and accommadating. We will definately be going back for another visit.

A Romantic Oasis Just Off Interstat

Just five minutes off Interstate 95. What a fantastic inn and what superb hosts - Michael and Patty Griffey! The Manor is spectacular with the rooms all first-class. We stayed in the Master. Its bathroom was as large as most hotel rooms. Patty is a marvelous chef! Dinner and breakfast were culinary delights. We have resolved to never bypass Abingdon Manor on our treks up and down Interstate 95.

An Absolute Must!!!

We have just returned from an experience we couldn't have ever imagined. We were greeted in the foyer by one of the owners (Mike) & immediately given a tour of the mansion...very impressive with of leagues of history. Then onto an exquisite 6 course meal...lovingly prepared by the other owner...Patty...the CHEF! The next morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and then embarked on our Cooking School experience. WOW...this is one for the books...and certainly one that we aspire to do again soon. We made fresh pasta, foccaica bread and many other fabulous dishes...and then (with a little anxiety) our dishes were served to the other diners at the restaurant!!! And, as usual in the Abingdon Manor dining room...dinner was received extremely well. Not too full, but just right!!!

First Visit

We have stayed at many B&Bs and this was one of our most enjoyable experiences. The innkeepers were exceptionally hospitable, as were the meals we were served. I'd highly recommend this side trip to anyone traveling I-95 between NY and FL.

Cozy and Romantic Inn

Michael and Betty were friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable and first class. The food at dinner and breakfast was delicious. We will stay here many times as we travel between Virginia and Florida.

Excellent quality

Our visit was just as it should be. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Dinner and breakfast were served graciously and both the taste and presentation was impeccable. One of our favorite dining experiences.

A Gem!

From the moment you book your reservation to the last moment you leave, Abingdon Manor is an experience of the superb. The property is gorgeously maintained with beautiful furnishings. Our bed was so comfortable and the sheets felt like butter, they were so soft. The Savannah room had a large bathroom with a big walk in shower. We didn't watch TV, but there was one provided in the wardrobe. There are irons, hairdryers, and spa robes in the closet. We enjoyed the train whistle in the far distance. Of course, Michael and Patty think of everything and provided ear plugs for those who don't enjoy that nostalgic sound. There was plenty of space to relax downstairs by the fire or in other rooms. Had we gotten up early enough, we could have enjoyed coffee on the upstairs porch. Now, the food is so good that it deserves its own posting! Cocktails at 7 and dinner at 7:30. The small bites to start were wonderful and the meal kept building to a perfect crescendo of flavors! Another pair of guests had selected the evening's menu prior to our booking, but it was simply marvelous! The Tuscan steak was perfect! (Of course, the owners, Michael and Patty, will fix things according to your dietary restrictions.) We were impressed because Michael remembers people's preferences. Several of the other guests were repeat customers. He remembered how they took their cocktails and which wine they preferred. You don't see customer service like that often. Breakfast was lovely and varied. I don't know where they got such delicious fresh fruit in early March, but it was delightful! I had never had shirred eggs, but they were marvelous! Patty is the chef and does cooking classes which sound lovely! She also posts a cooking show online. Abingdon Manor is a perfect place to stop on your trip between Florida and the Northeast! I couldn't recommend it more. This is also a lovely place for dinner for anyone in the SC or down east NC area. We will be back!
