Description
Circa 1702. General Rochambeau, commander of the French forces, quartered his personal staff at the Admiral Farragut house in 1776. The house had been expanded to two stories in 1755. Now framed by roses and a white picket fence, this yellow clapboard house showcases colonial cove moldings and 12-over-12 paned windows. In addition to the hand-crafted, reproduction Shaker four-poster beds, the inn features hand-painted armoires and a hand-painted fireplace mantel.
