A Romantic Out of the Way Spot

What a wonderful place to stay. Away from the hustle of the city, yet easily accessible. Want a romantic get away..this is the place. Our stay was fantastic...great food, great accommodations, and great innkeepers. The food was simply prepared yet presented as if to royalty. The rooms warm and cozy. The innkeepers, charming, friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. We will definitely return when in the area.

Treated like royalty

We have stayed at the Ashburn House on two separate occasions, each time it was a wonderful experience. Carole and Ken are such welcoming hosts. The three course breakfast they serve is just amazing. We will definitely return. Would definitely recommend a stay at this lovely B & B.

Great B&B

We felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door. Carole and Ken are excellent innkeepers. The house is a charming escape into old New England with all the comforts. Not to mention an oustanding breakfast. Great location for exploring this very pretty corner of New Hampshire.

Loved our stay

The owners were warm and friendly, and very helpful with directions and advice on our plans for the day. The room was very comfortable, great light in the day, quiet at night. We did not make use of the parlors, but they were very attractive and felt like home. Breakfast was delicious - fresh baked items, eggs prepped as you please, waffles, fresh juices. Very personal and well done. Much to do in the area, parks, lakes, hiking, etc outdoors. Many great restaurants, including one just down the road that served us a great late dinner.

A gem of a place

I spent the night before Easter at Ashburn House so I could attend the sunrise service at the Cathedral of the Pines which is about 10 minutes from the inn. The host and hostess are lovely, welcoming people who made me feel right at home. They were chatty without being intrusive. The food was top-notch: freshly baked scones, baked pears, waffles served up with their home-produced maple syrup and topped off with piping hot delicious coffee. The rooms are charming, the bed was comfortable, what else could you want or need!?!

Quaint, romantic, countryside B&B

Everything you would expect and more from a quintessential New England inn - beautifully restored Colonial home, gracious innkeepers, delicious hearty breakfasts. Bedroom was nicely appointed with THE MOST comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Innkeepers spoiled us with warm, wood-burning fires in the common area, tea, and popcorn. Water pressure in attached shower a bit weak, but this may be unavoidable given the age of the house.

What a wonderful treasure!

We were fortunate to have found this treasure for a week's stay this past July. Carole and Ken found us lovely accomodations without any notice and were most hospitable. From all the personal touches, to making dinner reservations for us, day trip recommendations, and the porch-side visits, they were wonderful. The breakfasts were amazing..the aromas that woke you in the morning were indescribeable...fresh blueberry pancakes, banana nut muffins, mmmmm the list goes on and on. We look forward to our next visit...wonderful home, people, and place to visit.

One Hundred Fifteen

Ashburn House was number 115 of the B&Bs that we have visited in the US, Canada, and European countries. It is one of the very best, one that we will never forget. Carole makes guests feel like a special friend or family member from the moment of arrival, and continues her warm and special attention to detail throughout your visit. Breakfast is indescribably delicious with her special dishes. Evenings, a fire is in the fireplace and guests share a bottle of Port and more treats as they relax and chat with one another. Robes, wine, and oh so comfortable beds wait in the tastefully appointed rooms. We, and other guests wanted to stay forever and we all plan to return.

Excellent Place

My experience at The Ashburn House was something that i will surely remember and look forward to reliving. Hailing all the way from India, Carole and Ken there made sure that we got everything we need to make this vacation perfect. The breakfast was ofcourse the highlight, I got to experience flavors like never before and the rooms were furnished for ultimate comfort. It was like a home away from home. The location is strategic because from here you could go all the way up the mountain, or walk up to pluck some blueberries or simply grab a chair and sit by a lake near by.

Cordial and quaint

I stayed here with my mum, my twin daughters, and infant grandson three years ago. We loved our stay with the Beckwiths. I promised to return and one day I hope to. Mum, sadly, has passed on. Linda Newell, Massachusetts

Completely happy

My stay here was perfect. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. Carole and Ken are welcoming, friendly, and helpful, yet also give you space. The best part - breakfast. Some of the best breakfasts I have ever had anywhere. You will not need lunch.

Delightful stay

We have stayed in several B&Bs in the USA, and this was undoubtedly the best. Carole and Ken were perfect hosts. My wife is gluten intolerant, and Carole baked her a special fruit loaf as part of the best breakfast we have had in a B&B regardless of country. The house and our room was charming and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again even if it meant a detour.

Great First B&B Experience

For our first B&B experience – this was WONDERFUL! We stayed there several days in mid May 2011, on the suggestion of friends, for a wedding at the nearby Cathedral of the Pines. Not only is the local area filled with natural beauty, the towns are charming with their colonial homes that are beautifully preserved. Ashburn house is one of these, built in 1807, it has been lovingly restored by Carole and Ken and furnished with beautiful antiques, yet it has all modern amenities available. The rooms are each lovely and unique in keeping with the house and are meticulously maintained as well as the outdoor gardens. Carole and Ken are delightfully warm and friendly hosts who are quite knowledgeable of the local area interests from kayaking to plays, museums, specialty shops and local events as well as local points of interest. They also provide a variety of conveniences to their guests like Madera in the parlor and cookies in the library, a small refrigerator and coffee service on the second floor landing, and wine with glasses in each room. They also provide lovely conversation if desired as well as refreshments later in the day. And the breakfasts are to die for. Prepare for a full fledged gourmet meal prepared fresh by Carole fresh daily and accompanied by Ken’s famous homemade muffins and jams! I know if we try any other B&B’s, we will be using this one as a standard to measure to

Highly Recommended

We received a very warm welcome to this historic, charming B&B tastefully furnished with period pieces. The three-course breakfasts were outstanding, as were the mid-afternoon baked snacks. The hosts were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely recommend this B&B but bring your appetites!

Country Welcome

Ashburn House and its surrounding setting takes one back to times gone by. The inn is charming; the wonderful breakfasts start one's days off perfectly and the inn keepers are warm and welcoming. All of this makes the traveler's stay an experience to remember. Virgina Guests

What a treat!!!

Four of my friends and I stayed in this lovely place regretfully only one night. It was lovely and we all enjoyed the house, food and company very much. If there is anyone reading this who wants to be treated to wonderful hospitality, please book not just one night but more if possible. You will not be dissapointed.

A weekend to remember

Ken and Carol are the perfect hosts providing the perfect atmosphere. A pure joy to chat with, but also providing the perfect amount of privacy as well. The breakfast alone is worth the price of admission! The rooms and beds are too cozy to leave. Come, stay, and be as sad to leave as we were! There is no doubt we're looking forward to coming back again!

Our NH Get-Away to my home state

We will miss the Inn as it is for SALE we were told so going to miss staying with Carole and Ken, such wonderful couple and just a pleasure to talk to and visit. Wanted to stay with them for Labor Day wkend yet they are booked for a wedding and not taking on any guest after October...sad really wanted to stay with them. We have been staying with Carole and Ken for over 2 years mostly on 3-day weekends when we come up to see family from New Jersey. We have enjoyed each stay as they have always made us feel welcome. The breakfast was always a treat for us and part of our stay that we always enjoyed. We loved our room with its claw bath tub and canopy bed. Our daughter loved her stay there each time and enjoyed player her clarinet of classical music in the inn. Will miss the Inn and Carol and Ken. Now have to look for a new place to stay.
