Clean Rooms, great food!

This B&B has it all: beautiful rooms, a generous 4 course gourmet breakfast, on a quiet street, and the best mattresses of any B&B‼ The hosts are so meticulous with their cleaning; the rooms look brand new! The Ashcroft House definitely has the cleanest and nicest rooms of any B&B we've ever stayed in. The location of this B&B is perfect, especially if you’d rather walk than drive. It’s within walking distance to the ocean pathway; Beacon Hill Park; and downtown. We walked everywhere from this location. We stayed in the self contained Orchard suite which has a king bed and fire place and soaker tub – it’s a wonderful suite and a perfect place for a restful holiday. We’ve now stayed in 3 different rooms here at the Ashcroft, and all of them were equally beautiful. We loved our stay at the Ashcroft and will return again. I highly recommend this B&B, you won’t be disappointed.

Food Allergy Friendly!

This is the place to stay if you have food allergies! One of the many reasons I love this B&B is that the hosts are so accommodating to people with allergies. I am a vegetarian with several food allergies, and the Ashcroft House accommodated this without hesitation. I was served a generous 4 course breakfast for the 4 days of our stay. At each breakfast you start with muesli /granola/ yogurt, followed by sliced mixed fresh fruit, then homemade baking (with extra to take with you for the day!), and then a hot meal such as: stuffed French toast with toasted pecans and sautéed apples, or Lemon Belgian waffles topped with fresh blueberries, or scrambled eggs with goat cheese and black bean & spinach salad – just to name a few examples). We were always full well into supper time! We stayed in the beautiful and spacious Sheldon room with a wonderful king size bed. The bed in this room is so unbelievably comfortable! This room also has two comfortable chairs to lounge and read, or rest your legs. The bathroom is bright and cheery with a large shower, and very clean! This room is also lovely because of its large windows which allow lot’s of light during the day, yet it has substantial curtains to block out light to sleep. This is a fantastic B&B!
