Description
Circa 1800. Get away from it all in New Orleans in an early 19th-century Creole bungalow that is a 10-minute walk from the French Quarter. Built before the Civil War, this inn was possibly a bordello. It's located near the birthplace of Jelly Roll Morton, the self-proclaimed "inventor of jazz." The inn's five guest bedrooms have been hand-painted and decorated by co-owner Stuart Auld. The bedrooms have individual tree motifs: Cypress, Oak, Palmetto, Magnolia and Sweetolive. A complimentary breakfast of locally baked French pastries, a house blend of café au lait, juices, fresh fruit and exotic teas and jellies is served in the sunroom or in the garden. Porch hammocks are on a "first come first snooze" basis.
