Description
Circa 1848. Avery Guest House is named for Major George Avery, who served in the Civil War and later led parades through Galena each year. The house originally was owned by a steamboat captain and later by a wagon-maker. There is a porch swing for leisurely evenings. Breakfast is served in the sunny dining room where bay windows overlook the Galena River Valley. It's an easy walk to the historic downtown area.
