I met Betty in August of 1987. In preparation for my first visit, I would call Betty to ask questions about Alaska and Fairbanks in particular. I asked questions about weather and what it is like to live in Alaska. She always had time to spend during our phone conversations. I visited Betty's Bed and Breakfast 11 more times until 2000. I was unable to visit Betty for the next thirteen years. She was always warm and friendly. I even got excited when the time came for another visit. Then one day I learned that Betty had died. Four years later I still can't find a reason anymore to visit Fairbanks. That's the kind of person Betty was.......one in a million. Mike from Texas
