Love At First Sight

The Black Dolphin is all about, elegance, taste, and polished service. The welcoming ambiance is amazing and the staff is exceptional. We loved the tasteful design and the mix of vintage and modern sensibilities. The facilities are immaculate as is the cleanliness of this special place. We are already talking about returning in the Fall

Dolphins Oh My! at This Bed & Breakfasst

On our recent road trip, we had the opportunity to stay 1 night at the Black Dolphin Inn on our way to Savannah. The Black Dolphin Inn evokes such an incredible ambiance and inviting atmosphere that is just wonderful to behold. With dolphins jumping every where, we could not believe how unique and different this property is compared to many other high end properties that we have visited. Congratulations to the Black Dolphin Inn team for delivering such and exceptional inn for the enjoyment of it's guests.

Very Well Done!

The Black Dolphin Inn is an amazing property with outstanding rooms, unique common area amenities, and features the best breakfast that I have ever experienced at a bed and breakfast inn. The family that operates the Black Dolphin Inn is engaging, detailed oriented, and very professional in the management of their business. I would highly recommend this property to anyone that is considering a visit to the Central East coast of Florida.

Amazing Place

This was our first visit to the Black Dolphin Inn and we truly loved our stay. The whole experience was amazing - highlighted by the great food, wonderful hospitality, and dancing dolphins right off their dock. We will return and we plan to tell all of our friends about this amazing place on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.

The Best of the Best!

The Black Dolphin Inn is the finest bed and bed breakfast that my husband and I have ever stayed at in the United States. The breakfast is amazing, the staff is as nice as they can be, and they were very helpful in telling us about the local restaurants and attractions. We have told all of our friends about this property and we are anxious to return the next time we plan to visit Florida. Job well done?

Amazing Stay In New Smyrna Beach!

The Black Dolphin is by far the best hotel that my husband and I have ever stayed in since we got married 8 years ago. The incredible breakfast, fabulous rooms and attentive service was the perfect recipe for a memorable stay. The attention to detail and the great location on the Indian River with dolphins all around was truly amazing. We can not say enough goods things about this property and we hope to return in the very near future.

Amazing Grace!

The Black Dolphin Inn is an amazing operation. They have an experienced team that caters to your every need. The hotel design is superb and the attention to detail really sets this B&B apart from its competition. We loved everything about our Deluxe Bay View unit which had 2 balcony's with great views of the waterway. We even saw dolphins very close to the dock. We left with great memories and cannot wait to return.

The Best of the Best!

The Black Dolphin Inn is the best hotel that we have stayed at on the Eastern Seaboard of the US. The facility is architecturally stunning, the rooms are exquisitely detailed, and the service is very intuitive. Unit #203 is more like a Honeymoon suite than a hotel room. It is absolutely gorgeous with a soaking tub right in the middle of the bedroom! Lots of value added- amenities that are top notch. Dolphins swimming right off their dock. Just amazing. Can't wait to return!

Fabulous Boutique Inn!

We recently had the pleasure of staying in the Bay Front Suite during the Christmas holidays. The attention to detail is amazing. The staff anticipated our every need and made us feel right at home. The suite featured an incredible view of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway where we saw wild dolphins every single day. What a thrill - we can't wait to return to this fabulous family run boutique inn.

Perfection in Every Detail

The Black Dolphin is by far the best inn that my husband and I have ever stayed at since we got married 5 years ago. It is so romantic and we especially loved Unit #203 which has a huge soaking tub centered in the middle of the bedroom,. The interior design is very unique and the attention to detail was amazing. The Escape!

We can't thank you enough for the getaway days we had at your magnificent Black Dolphin Inn. From the moment we arrived, you and your staff were accommodating above and beyond our expectations. We are very grateful for the kind upgrade to a suite and the extra parking for our trailer and motorcycle. It is a rare treat for us to escape our business and family responsibilities and we could not have picked a better place to disappear! We were particularly touched by the magical charisma of you an all who work at the inn. We hope to become regular visitors and look forward to our next escape.

The Best of the Best

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the Black Dolphin Inn. The location was perfect, the inn was marvelous, and the food was delicious. Our unit, which was located on the north-east corner of the building, featured incredible water-views and dolphin sightings while we sipped a glass of wine which was truly memorable. In all, the service, food, and ambiance was truly outstanding. We will be back!

Hidden Treasure

The Black Dolphin Inn is truly a gem to be discovered. We loved every aspect of our stay. This boutique inn really feels like a home as it is very warm and welcoming. The Smith family are experienced hoteliers who make their guests feel like royalty. Other guest we met were very nice and seemed to like the Black Dolphin as much as we did. We plan to return for a second visit later this year. Thank you for being such great hosts.

From NSB with Love

The Black Dolphin Inn is such a wonderful place that we don't want anyone else to find out about it. But that wouldn't be fair to the family who owns this boutique inn who do such an exceptional job of making you feel right at home. We recently stayed in Unit #204 and it was truly fantastic. Great view, incredible attention to detail, wonderful bedding, luxurious bathrooms, romantic overtones - what more could you ask for. How about the breakfast which I would rate as the best I have experienced anywhere. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Its 5 star all the way and at a great value.

Surprising Stunner

We chose the Black Dolphin Inn based on its reputation as one of the premier inns in Florida. Even though we only stayed 1 night - we were extremely impressed by the heart-felt and gracious hospitality of the staff and the incredible facilities and amenities that they offer. This may be the best B&B that we have ever stay in and we won't hesitate to recommend it to our family and friends. Thank you for exceeding our expectations and for delivering a first class guest experience.

Black Dolphin Memories

My wife and I just celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary at this charming inn. The staff exhibited a sincere heart-felt desire to make us feel special - and the complimentary bottle of champagne was a nice touch. The destination is quite diversified with lots of restaurants, art galleries, and boutique shops. We really enjoyed our time at the Black Dolphin Inn and we plan to return next year to this hidden gem along the shores of the Indian River.

We Did It Our Way

Dear Smith Family: Our travel experience at the Black Dolphin was truly one of the best vacations that Bob & I have had in many years. The inn is so tastefully done and the attention to detail defies the imagination. And of course the breakfast, with Mackenzie showcasing her culinary skills was out of this world. We enjoyed meeting all of you and feel like we are now an extension of your family. We leave with many great memories and we plan to let all of our friends and family know what a great place you have in New Smyrna Beach.

Anniversary Suiteness

I can only sum up this amazing inn in one word - Inncredible. Mu husband and I recently stayed in the honeymoon suite which was fabulous. The spa tub in the master bedroom was really nice and the king size bed was one of the most comfortable that we have ever slept on. The interior design of the unit was tastefully done with lots of unique and original pieces of art. Thank you for the memories and we can't wait to return to celebrate our next anniversary.

Romancing the Momnent

The Black Dolphin Inn is perhaps the most magical and romantic hotel that we have ever stayed at in our entire lives. My husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary there last month and this property really lived up to its hype as one of the most romantic inns in the US. Our room was really cool with a corner spa tub in the master bedroom, the delicious breakfast looked like the cover of a food magazine, and the service was very attentive - with-out being obtrusive. Most amazing of all was seeing a school of shiny charcoal colored dolphins skirting along the edge of the channel - while a sea turtle bobbed his head up and down less than 30 feet away from the dock. Then to top it off, one of the dolphins did a full acrobatic jump out of the water - almost as if he/she was vying for our attention! Our memories of the Black Dolphin Inn will last a lifetime and we can't thank the staff enough for a truly amazing stay.

Special Touches and Attention to Detail

My wife and I stayed at the Black Dolphin Inn last November and we truly enjoyed our visit at this amazing property. While the rooms, common areas, staff, and food make all of the headlines, its truly the little things that make this inn so special. The RC Cola and Moon Pies at the refreshment bar, the assorted candy dishes in the lobby, the fresh fruit cups each morning, the ice cold beer in frosted glasses, Wi-Fi in the common areas, the plant derived Aveda bath products, the a/c units that don't make any noise , the black dolphins that mysteriously appear out of no where, to the small display cover plate on the telephone to eliminate light and the list just goes on and on. The level of detail is just incredible and the staff is so personable in making you feel right at home. It truly is about the special touches and attention to detail that combined with everything else, makes this such a great property to visit in New Smyrna Beach

16th Wedding Anniversary Bliss

My husband and I just returned from celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary at the Black Dolphin Inn and all I can say is - WOW! This place is amazing with a rock-star quality team of hospitality professionals who get it. From our arrival all the way through to our last incredible breakfast there was not a single detail that was missed. We were literally in awe of the way we were treated and the genuine sincerity of the staff who really pampered us. And unit #203 with the free standing tub is probably the romantic room we have ever stayed in. We can't wait to come back and want to thank the staff at the Black Dolphin for a truly blissful and amazing stay.

Our Anniversary Celebration

The Black Dolphin Inn is truly the most romantic and beautiful inn that my wife and I have ever stayed at in our almost 10 years of marriage. The location on the river, combined with great service and wonderful guest rooms - contributed to our exceptional experience at this award-winning inn. While we only mentioned that we were celebrating 10 years of marriage, what a pleasant surprise it was to find a bottle of champagne in our room after returning from dinner on the last night of our stay. We can't thank the Black Dolphin Inn team enough for creating such a memorable experience that we will remember for a long time.

19th Weddding Celebration

My wife and I decided to take a weekend jaunt from Orlando to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary in New Smyrna Beach. We had heard some great things about the Black Dolphin Inn from some friends - so we decided to give it a try. While we had high expectations, we were literally blown away by this amazing estate home, the attention to detail, the excellent Full Southern Breakfast each morning and the genuine hospitality that was on display by each member of this amazing team of guest service professionals. We thank you so much for an unforgettable stay. This was the best B&B that we have ever stayed at and we look forward to returning in the near future.

Amazing Stay - Incredible Food

We had a truly amazing stay at the Black Dolphin Inn. The rooms were beautiful and immaculately clean. The staff was absolutely wonderful- caring, warm, and extremely attentive. We stayed in one of the units overlooking the Indian River wit its own furnished balcony and it was so divine. Each morning, breakfast was served in the open -air exhibition kitchen with an Executive Chef who is extremely talented. The food was remarkable - both visually and taste wise. This is absolutely the best B&B we have ever stayed at including some of our forays into Europe. Definitely will be coming back next year.

40th Wedding Celebration

We recently stayed at the Black Dolphin Inn for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Now we know why this property is ranked as one of the best inn's in the US. The inn is beautiful, the water views of the Indian River are amazing, and the inn has incredible curb appeal that is truly inviting. The breakfast was great-and the conversation was equally wonderful led by the charismatic host - Ms. Sheila. Everything you need for a great vacation is right there at the Black Dolphin Inn and we can't wait to return.

Romance is in the Air

From the moment we arrived at the Black Dolphin Inn , we knew we were in a very special place. The guest rooms are beautifully appointed and the views of the Indian River were incredible. I would have to say that the free floating tub in the bedroom, combined with the most comfortable bed we ever slept on - contributed to a romantic evening that we will not soon forget. Thank you Black Dolphin Inn for making our stay so memorable.

Beyond Expectations

Brett & Scott: Where do we begin - the Black Dolphin Inn is such an amazing place. The architectural detailing, interior design, and refined elegance of the facilities defies description. You have taken a page out of Ian Shrager's playbook (Morgan's Hotels) and created a lifestyle concept that tastefully blends an Old Florida look with a modern sensibility - complimented by a coastal vibe that is truly at the cutting edge of hotel design. I would be shocked if the Black dolphin Inn is not on the cover of a major magazine in the months ahead - it is that good! While I compliment you for your novel and tasteful design elements, it is really the quality of the service that separates the Black Dolphin Inn from the competition. The staff was able to anticipate our every need - and the personal involvement of the ownership group was quite evident through-out the duration of our visit. Everyone on the Black Dolphin inn team went out of their way to make sure that all of our needs were taken care of - and always with a smile. And by the way, the Full Southern breakfast is the best that we have ever had in a hotel/resort environment. We were treated like royalty and can't wait to come back. Thank you so much for sharing the Black Dolphin Inn with us.

Gracious Hospitality

Dear Mr. Smith: I would like to thank you and your staff for the gracious hospitality that was extended to me during my recent stay at the Black Dolphin Inn. My travels over the years have allowed me to stay at some of the finest hotels in the world. Your property speaks for itself, and your staff genuinely enjoys attending to your guest needs with a great sense of professionalism. I believe that this attitude of service starts with the culture of the ownership group and it is a great reflection on your leadership. Should your travels ever bring you to the Palm Beach area, please do not hesitate to contact me personally as we would welcome the opportunity to see you again.

Love.Love Love

Kudos to the husband and wife team who brought the Black Dolphin Inn to the sleepy town of New Smyrna Beach. I only have wonderful things to say about my stay there. The hotel is an absolute gem, with its carefully chosen décor and private chef who comes in daily to prepare breakfast. Each room is it own unique retreat- without being super tacky and over-themed. Think W Hotels goes bed and breakfast. If you are looking to enjoy contemporary comforts while slipping away into the quiet of a tucked away Florida town, this is the place for you.

40th Wedding Anniversary Surprise

Much to my delight, my husband surprised me by booking a weekend in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary. I can't begin to tell you how nice the Black Dolphin Inn was compared to any other B&B that we have stayed in. The place has a great vibe, the ambiance is superb, and the family that runs it really know how to turn-on the Southern charm. The full Southern breakfast was outstanding and the Chef really out did himself with the Shrimp and Grits. The Black Dolphin Inn is truly worthy of all the accolades and awards that it has received since opening only 1 year ago and we can't wait to return for our 41st Anniversary.

AAA Four Diamond Extravaganza

This has to be the best inn anywhere in Florida. Everything about the property was amazing. The staff was phenomenal, the breakfast was off the charts and the room décor is beyond belief. I can't believe that this property is only AAA Four Diamond - it would get my vote for 5 Diamonds. Can't wait to return - my stay was truly memorable in so many ways.

Anniversary Stay

I want to thank you for a great anniversary stay. We really enjoyed it. the inn was beautiful and the breakfast was exceptional. When we got home, my husband realized that he had one of your towels mixed in with his laundry. I have included it in this package. Thanks again.

Anniversary Celebration

Dear Brett & Sheila: I cannot say enough nice things about our recent stay at the Black Dolphin Inn where we recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The Honeymoon suite was fabulous, the breakfast each morning was probably the best I ever had, and the opportunity to see dolphins off the dock was truly amazing. But most of all, we appreciated the stellar service we received. You made us feel like an extended member of you family and we look forward to returning to the Black Dolphin Inn in the near future.

Southern Hospitality

We just returned home to New York and had to take a moment to reflect upon our visit to the Black Dolphin Inn. You guys not only know how to make everyone feel welcome but you did it in such a way that we felt more like family than hotel guests. We literally had tears in our eyes when we left. Taylor is a real treasure and was so kind and helpful in getting us acclimated to the area. Chef Joe and Sheila did an outstanding job with our morning breakfast and really know how to turn on that Southern hospitality. Our room was immaculate and very clean. We loved the mid-century furniture and the tasteful ambiance of the accommodation. But most importantly, it's not the brick and mortar- but the quality of the service that we will miss the most. We leave with many fond memories of the Black Dolphin Inn and can't wait to come back next year.

Sassy Southern Charm

Dear Sheila, Brett, Scott, Joe, and Taylor: Thank you for your warm welcome, stylish sensibilities, and sassy Southern charm and sumptuous sleep - that have been but a few of the Black Dolphin Inn "gifts". My stay here made my experience of Central Florida rival many destinations and your friendship is an added bonus. I will be back! hugs, S.L.

Absolutely Stunning B&B!

Gorgeous, immaculately restored 1920s Spanish style mansion with every detail meticulously thought out...this is not your typical B&B! The warmth and privacy of a B&B with the luxury and modern amenities of a luxury resort. The owners are warm and charming and have taken great care to provide a memorable stay with European style bedding, oversized jetted tubs, private balconies and porches, breathtaking decor, large flat screened TVs, and absolutely delicious breakfasts. Cannot say enough about this amazing find!
