A great experience

A beautiful house, beautifully restored and furnished, delicious breakfasts, and pleasant and attentive hosts. This is an inn we will be returning to. One piece of advice: if Debbie recommends a restaurant or a winery, go!

Need to get back...

A long weekend at The Black Sheep Inn is so very relaxing. Deb and Marc are wonderful hosts. From great food to fires on the patios the experience can't be beat. The mood is relaxed. The inn is clean and comfortable. Need something - just ask - Deb and Marc are happy to help. The location is perfect. Minutes from some great wineries. We can't wait to get back. M&T.

Outstanding service, Very Romantic

We spent two nights at the lovely Black Sheep Inn. Deb and Marc are fantastic hosts. The breakfast was exceptional and the Inn itself very interesting and memorable. The building is newly renovated, keeping within its historic and architectural significance. It is very comfortable, spacious and truly feels like a home away from home. Owners are knowledgeable about the area and will make any necessary calls, provide coordination and assistance to ensure guests have a great visit. Every activity and restaurant they recommended was just perfect and exactly what we were looking for on our getaway. 5 Stars across the board-a total home run. We look forward to visiting again.

Great B & B Wonderful Hosts

My wife and myself can not say enough about the wonderful service and treatment we received during or stay in Hammondsport at the Black Sheep Inn. Owners Deb and Marc went out of their way to make our stay both entertaining and relaxing! The breakfasts catered to my wife's special diet and the host's knowledge of the area was excellent.

Want to return soon

Debbi & Marc are the best hosts ever. We did not have a reseveration, and stopped in out of the clear blue. We were treated like long-time customers or family. Everything about the stay was excellent. We want to return soon.

a lovely place & people!

We very much enjoyed our stay in July 2010, which included a marvelous dinner prepared by Debbie for our anniversary. Breakfasts were outstanding! Marc and Debbie were also extremely helpful with suggestions for our daytime activities and dinners out. My only regret is wishing we'd spent more time just 'hanging out' on the premises and enjoying the beautiful inn itself!

A rare treasure!

Our stay at the Black Sheep Inn was fantastic... Debbie and Marc gave us a personal tour of the house when we arrived and then we enjoyed a bottle of the local Pear Champagne and relaxed in the courtyard. It just got better from there.... Breakfast has a whole new meaning at the Black Sheep Inn, the organic creations from Debbie's kitchen were amazing and our intimate 5-course dinner for 2 in the dining room was devine!! Debbie and Marc know how to make you feel welcome, we left with 2 new friends we hope to visit again, not just 'the inkeepers'. Deb and Marc directed us to all the touring we desired, and organized a lovely massage under the trees and a hot air balloon ride. This was my 1st experience at a B&B and I would venture to guess, it would be difficult to find another that has such quality and service. The guest rooms were beautiful and our bed was so comfortable, it was difficult to want to get out of it in the morning! We will definately be back. C&K - Lancaster, PA

July 17, 2011

I was extremely impressed with the Black Sheep Inn. Deb & Marc are very "down to earth" folks, who are very easy going and great to get along with. Service was wonderful and they are both very helpful with guiding to local attractions and local eateries, etc. Very clean and hospitable, tranquil and serene. Tucked away in what seems to be another world. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax with great food and wonderful people. We enjoyed the side-by-side spa treatment offered and had a special meal prepared for our anniversary. Deb is an excellent chef!!! Marc and Deb did wonderful renovations to the Black Sheep and it was quite remarkable to see the fruits of their labors. I truly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Keuka Lake/Seneca Lake area!!!!

Hope to return often

We visit the Keuka Lake/Hammondsport area frequently but, only just tried the Black Sheep Inn in July 11. The unique and painstakingly restored building is a treat. The rooms are quirky but charming. However, the inn keepers are what will keep us coming back - the friendliest people you would ever want to meet.

Romance Doesn't Get Better

We can't say enough positive things about our stay at Black Sheep. From the minute we made our reservation to the morning we left, Deb and Marc did everything they could to make our weekend stay the perfect, romantic weekend we had hoped for. The food was absolutely delicious, the house was impeccable and conversation was terrific - as if we'd known them for years. It is obvious that they LOVE what they do and the Inn is not just their job, but it's an extension of their hospitable personalities. Everything from the picnic lunch/dinner to the candlelit breakfast was a huge hit. The charm and character of the house literally transports you to a simpler time and allows you to leave the stress of today's world behind. It was so refreshing to enjoy our time meeting Deb and Marc, touring the area and relaxing. We can't wait to go back this fall!

Mini-moon

We stayed at the Black Sheep Inn for two nights following our wedding. Debbie and Marc were very laid back and recognized that we needed alone time as we enjoyed our mini-moon. They were very accommodating without being intrusive. They even prepared a candlelit breakfast our first morning without prior arrangements. The premises were very clean and beautiful. Breakfast was excellent. Overall, we had a quiet, relaxing stay.

Something Special

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing time at this inn. We went to celebrate his birthday and it was truly something special. The building is beautifully restored, with a real eye for detail but it dose not feel stuffy as Deb and Marc make you feel at home right away. They were incredibly knowledgeable about things to do in the area and were really fun to talk to. Both my husband and I enjoyed the breakfast immensely, it was a perfect send off to a perfect stay.

Execellant -- can't wait to return

My sisters, our husbands and our parents took a special together vacation this year for our parents' birthdays. We could not have chosen a better place to stay for this trip. Deb and Marc are entertaining, yet unobtrusive, informative and share their love of their house with their guests. The rooms were comfortable and having common areas for us to get together after our days' adventures puts this B&B heads above all others. We hope to get back often!

Wonderfully modern B&B

My husband and I are not normally "B&B" people- the stereotypical victorian lace decorations, nosey people, and small rooms that are supposedly "charming" have always been a turn-off. But the Black Sheep is the best of a boutique hotel and a B&B in one- wonderful large, tastefully designed rooms, privacy, fantastic bathrooms, and great organic breakfast by Debbie. Marc made us a fire in the fire pit and we were happy to share a glass of wine and great conversation with Debbie and Marc too. They are so casual and accommodating for our needs. We always LOVE visiting the Finger Lakes and can't wait to do so again at the Black Sheep Inn!

A Lovely Surprise

I found Black Sheep as a birthday surprise for my husband and was blown away by the exquisite detail, homey feeling and gourmet food. Turned out I was the most surprised. Debbie & Marc’s passion for this industry only surpasses how knowledgeable they are. Either that or they’re mad geniuses! In any case, we loved them and the place and will return with family & friends again and again…Diane Olmstead, Binghamton, NY.

The Perfect Romantic Stay!

This is our second summer staying at the Black Sheep Inn, and aside from it's wonderful decor, location, ambiance, etc., Marc and Deb are the most welcoming and accommodating hosts you could ever hope for! Your palate will never be the same after sampling the amazingly delicious, natural, inventive, and healthy dishes that Debbie serves up every morning. What is also most enjoyable is that Marc and Deb obviously love what they do, and as such, they go out of their way to make your stay extremely comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. Needless to say, the Black Sheep Inn will be on our summer schedule for the foreseeable future, and we highly recommend it to anyone staying in the amazingly beautiful Finger Lakes region! Oh, and did we mention that we got engaged at the Black Sheep! Thanks again Marc and Deb!

AWFUL!!!

Arrived at this INN on a Friday evening after dining at a local pub that the owner had suggested. Only an hour after checking in, we both got sick with food poisoning and had to drive back home 2 1/2 hours. We accidentally left with our room key but called and promised to mail it back asap. We were not only charged the full $330 for the night (we were there for an hour) but she also charged us another $30 for the room key (which we mailed back). Rooms were mediocre at best, nothing impressive about this INN, and especially not the fake and insincere hospitality...no compassion. We would never stay there again. The wineries on the other hand were fantastic!!!!

The Black Sheep Inn is an amazing getaway! Relaxing and comfortable environment, with soothing music and gourmet breakfasts! The architecture and design of the inn is just so beautiful too. My husband and I traveled to the finger lakes for a quick getaway and being an avid B&B person, I was extremely pleased with the inn, the location, the overall feel and a very great set of hosts who went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. We can't wait to go back.

Post-Christmas snow storm visit

The owners, Debbie & Marc, are very personable and love to share stories and laughs with their guests, but are content to leave you to yourselves if you wish. The inn is very well maintained with many newer but still era-relevant hardware/ fixtures. This is a great place to stay whether you're looking for a place near the wineries or just a place to get away for a couple days.

Wonderful Experience

We absolutely loved our trip. We had never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before and were a little hesitant due to the "closeness" of other guests. However, we found this was an unnecessary fear. You can be as social or unsocial as you wish to be and no one pressures you otherwise. The breakfasts were outstanding, the conversations lovely, the relaxation calming. Debbie and Marc are great. They were very helpful in helping us plan our days.We can't wait to go back!

Wonderfully ran Inn

While planning a trip to the Finger Lakes, I came across excellent reviews of The Black Sleep Inn . The Inns web site was informative, attractive and held my attention so I called. From the moment Deb answered the phone I was a fan. A few minutes into the call I had changed from a two nights stay to three nights plus booked a sailing excursion and a wine tour. Deb and Marc not only met our needs, they warmed our souls... Debs a feeder ,with a knowledge of nutrition and an artistry for plating! Marc has a trained eye for design, the Inn ...his canvas! My Husband was so impressed that he wrote in the guest book himself. This lovely ,talented couple run a B&B they way a B&B should be ran. Couldn't be happier

My friends and I were planning a weekend get-away..with no husbands or children and I stumbled across Black Sheep Inn. From the moment I inquired about the Inn until the moment we checked out, the service was great. The Inn was beautiful and had such comfortable feel. Deb and Marc were wonderful and made our "girls weekend" a great experience, The Wine Trail Survival Kit that Deb put together was delicious and a nice touch to the weekend. Our group are not the most adventurous when it comes to trying new food, but each morning we were excited to taste the amazing breakfast that Deb made. I have recommended and will continue to recommend this inn to any and everyone.
