Romantic Interest

The Inn is virtually a six acre island of lawn and gardens surrounded on all sides by miles of open water. With sunrise over the Choptank River and sunset over the Chesapeake Bay across 200 yards of lawn, the peace and quiet the wind and waves instill is unavoidable.

Describe Garden and Grounds

With water on all sides, our 150 year-old yews, maples and black locust frame the bay. The back cove of the bird sanctuary is lined with loblolly pines that are home to our many osprey and pair of nesting eagles. While our rose, azalea, camellia and perennial beds are under construction, we do have a substantial collection of orchids and each room has its own rabbit-foot fern.
