What a gem
We planned a road trip from Seattle to San Francisco over 4 days stopping in Bandon, Oregon, Eureka, CA and Napa, CA. Bandon is great golf and Napa, great wine of course but by far, our one night at the Carter House Inn was our favorite. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, and the folks were exceptionally nice and helpful. The evening started with a complimentary wine hour between 5-6PM at their bar. We had an outstanding dinner at their lobby restaurant, Restaurant 301. The best carrot-ginger soup and rib eye steak I've ever eaten and my husband raved about the salmon. And complimentary tea and delicious cookies were served at 8PM in the lobby. Breakfast was included the next morning and the tarts and egg scramble with peppers and shallots were wonderful. The only con which some folks have mentioned in other reviews is you will hear noise from the street or other guests. If you are a light sleeper like me, this may bother you,but even I would stay here again in a minute.
