Great location and character

We stayed at Caswell Arms the weekend after Thanksgiving in 2012. We were coming from Boston and found this to be a great location as a base camp for trips across the area. It's about 2 hours from Boston, so easy to leave after work and get there in time for a comfortable dinner. We like the diversity in the area and try to hit the coast, lakes, and western mountains when we have time. The property is like a big comfortable apartment. Seems like everything was just redone, finished well, and it was very clean for our stay. We have a 4-year old who was happy as a clam / right at home. Nice touches we didn't expect like remarkably good towels and coffee. No surprises or complaints. We only saw the owner (Tracy) when we first arrived: she was helpful without being intrusive at all. I often pick hotels over Inns and B&Bs because the character of these places often comes with a lot of quirks. My family and I were very happy with our stay and will likely stay again.
