Circa 1799. Thomas Mann Randolph, governor of the state of Virginia and son-in-law of Thomas Jefferson, built Clifton. One of the guest rooms boasts a winter view of Jefferson's estate, Monticello. In addition to the main house, guests can choose Garden Rooms, Livery Suites or the two-level Carriage House.
