Description
Circa 1858. This stunning, Greek Revival manor has been lovingly restored to feature many of the home's extravagant original touches, including 14-foot ceilings fitted with banded cornices and exuberant medallions; carved, black marble mantels; chandeliers and heart-of-pine floors. The innkeepers' restoration efforts were honored by the New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission. The elegant rooms are delightful, and guests will enjoy investigating the many wonderful antiques found throughout the home. The gardens include walkways and terraces constructed from pink Belgian flagstones found on the site.

: The Benachi House occupies ¾ of an acre - one of the largest of the old city lots - landscaped with two fountains, a fish pond, parking, a gazebo, flagstone terrace, walkways, more than a dozen mature trees and flowering shrubs. The Villa is on a more traditional urban lot, but with a brick patio, fountain, walkways and parking. |
