Description

Circa 1946. Buoyed by the Mississippi River, this romantic towboat is moored against a backdrop of the downtown skyline. Now a floating B&B, this authentic line boat was the prototype for modern-era towboats. Trimmed stem to stern in brass, bronze and mahogany, the authentic nautical theme is elegant. The comfortable salon, lit with clerestory windows, offers tables with a view, fireside couches and a library of historic books. Private staterooms feature built-in cabinets, antique fixtures and vintage art. The galley provides a breakfast blend of gourmet and hearty regional fare like wild rice French toast with fresh strawberries, organic maple syrup and bacon or sausage. Enjoy a quiet getaway or explore the active city life.

Awesome Experience!

We stayed in the Riverview Suite (lower level), the room was beautiful and comfortable, roomier than I imagined a boat would be. A high, extremely comfortable bed. A unique and incredible view out portholes at water level. The hostess was friendly and full of character, what an interesting life she leads. The upkeep is impressive. The breakfast was decadent! I recommmend this inn to everyone!

Fabulous Romantic Experience!

The Covington Inn is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. This charming B&B proves a unique "water" experience which showcases the beauty of Saint Paul and the Mississippi River. We stayed there in the fall-- the leaves changing and the cool crisp autumn air provided the ideal setting. And most important, the staff far exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend the Covington Inn and look forward to returning again soon!

Romantic

I took my love here for his birthday, we stayed in the Pilot House Suite...it was the most romantic evening! We had a private deck overlooking the St. Paul skyline, and the service was impeccable!! Now a gift certificate to the Covington Inn is the gift I'll give all couples for any romantic special occasion.

Romantic and Relaxing

ttWords are not enough to describe the ease and tranquility of the atmosphere, rooms, owner and staff at the Covington Inn. We stayed in the Riverview Suite, which was amazing! It was spacious, charming and very comfortable. With a private sitting area affording a view of the river and downtown St. Paul, having our own little "parlor" area was a nice addition. In the evening, we enjoyed a picnic on the rooftop deck and watched the sunset and reflection of the city on the Mississippi. It was magical! The mornings breakfast was delicious! Decadent and memorable in a beautiful parlor setting. I can't recommend the Covington Inn highly enough. It allows you to feel as if you are alone in the city yet have it all at your fingertips.

Romantic Getaway

You will not be disappointed with the Covington Inn Bed and Breakfast. Once you step onto the boat, you are taken away with how welcome you feel. Cozy as can be and a view of the city skyline is incredible. The owner is magnificent and if you are ever in the Twin Cities, you need to take a weekend and stay here.

We have stayed at the Covington Inn several times during all seasons. You can't find a more romantic and relaxing place to share a bottle of wine in front of the fire place surrounded by the lights of Saint Paul in the dead of winter. Bruce & Shelly

Romantic

If you are looking for a romantic get away, look no further than the Covington Inn. The views of the Mississippi River and the Saint Paul skyline are breathtaking from the rooms and the large deck (there is a double chaise lounge that is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sun set or staring up at the stars). The suites are cozy and each has a fireplace-a must when you are looking for romance. Trust me, you won't want to go home.

Relax on water.

Loved being on the water. Watched boats cruise by while relaxing. Easy walk/drive across bridge to St. Paul nightlife. Not often you can find a place this quaint next to a downtown area, providing a nice mix of seclusion and stimulation.

Unique!!

The Covington Inn B&B is the most unique place we have ever stayed. We decided to do a "staycation" rather than go out of state and our stay was awesome. We could stay on the boat or walk or drive to the city. We enjoyed a festival being held on the island where we were moored. The rooms are fantastic and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. The view of St. Paul was beautiful - especially at night. All aspects of the Covington Inn were top notch - service, cleanliness, condition, etc. I have recommended it to many of my friends. It is simply an all around great place to stay.

Water = Romance

I stayed in a room below deck, with the water sloshing against the portholes. Very dreamy & romantic -- an excellent retreat place. I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere, but the city was only minutes away.
