Grand Inn, Grand Setting

We loved this old place! Nothing pretentious..just old fashioned with good food and comfortable accommodations.

A Very Special Place

We just returned from our 4th visit to the grand old New England Resort. We were delighted to find this wonderful old hotel is receiving a great deal of attention. The roof has been replaced, the parking lots have been top coated and a new tennis court had been installed since last year's visit. We found ourselves expressing much gratitude that we were not the ones responsible for seeing to the paint job this old clapboard hotel is undergoing. When finished, the old place will look even grander than it already does! The hotel is offering a BBQ on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and is set on the grand veranda overlooking the mountains and the resort's golf course. It had been a little rainer than during our prior visits; but, the golf course was in spectacular condition. The hotel offered special family rates for golf in July which made if very affordable for our family. The kids really enjoyed the heated swimming pool upon our return from Story Land-"a place where fantasy lives" according to the tourist brochures. This year we found circus acts added to the amusements and we really liked the show with the cats. Who knew cats could ever be trained? We kleep returning to the Eagle and we are delighted to see so many improvements being undertaken. We had feared this grand place might fall into ruin and disappear forever. The Eagle is a very affordable, uncrowded and family friendly kind of a place!
