A charming inn

What a lovely night in Sharon Springs! The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the hosts were exceptional. We had no sooner arrived than Dan was making dinner reservations for us. Ask for a romantic breakfast for 2 on the porch.

Edgefield Inn Sharon Springs

Truly one of the best kept secrets as far away as New York City as experienced by six (of the 9 of us staying for weekend) New Yorkers at heart. This inn is managed and owned by Daniel Wood. Mr Woodf leaves NO detail untouched from the warm greeting, wonderful accomodations including the softest linens imagined, and superb overall "looking after" not to mention a wonderfully prepared home cooked breakfast. The area offers opera in the summer and wonderful historic sites such as Hyde Hall, Fenimore Art Museum and nearby Cooperstown for the baseball aficiando. Great nearby restaurants "The American Hotel" and "Red Hen" in Roseboom. Run.. don't walk.. for a weekend getaway you won't soon forget.....

A Little Bit of England

What a perfectly marvelous B&B! We spent 4 delightful nights at Edgefield. Edgefield is beautifully decorated in classic English style, comfortable, and with all the conveniences. Our Host, Dan Wood, could not have been more cordial or helpful. He made sure that we had everything we needed including directions and restaurant recommendations. He even made the reservations for us. The breakfasts were sublime. Each one was different and extremely well done. We already have plans to return next year. It is only a short drive to Cooperstown, the Glimmerglass Opera, Hyde Hall, and the Art Museum. Sharon Springs is a well kept secret that is historical, interesting and with lovely shops.

A welcoming and warm stay

Recently spent a long weekend at the Edgfield and was incredibly happy withour choice. The home is well appointed and clean. Daniel, the host, was accomodating with local dining reservations and suggestions of points of interest. Each morning a warm breakfast was served either in the dining room or on the verandah where we had a chance to meet and catch up with the other guests. If you are in the Sharon Springs area and looking for a relaxing location, I would strongly suggest staying at the Edgefield.
