Fantastic Stay!
Had a wonderful time at the Fox Inn, Cliff and Michele are great! You feel at home during your stay. The location is great and easy to get the wineries. The breakfasts are excellent!

paradisiacal stay in Penn Yan
t was our first ( but definitely not our last) trip to the Finger Lakes region and Penn Yan. Wow, what a Gem! The inn itself ( I believe dating back to the 1820's ) was elegantly decorated, The room ( we stayed in the Harry Fox) was clean, spacious, quiet with enough dressers, closet and plenty of hot water for showers and the single person whirlpool tub
( which was delightful after a long day of activity) The common rooms were large with a sitting area, a pool table room and a spot to watch televison. We sat on the front porch one evening relaxing and enjoying a bottle of reisling before dinner as the Penn Yan Activity began to wind down.
Mike, Tanya and family were friendly and helpful. Mike was engaging, pleasant and extremely knowedgable of the area and wineries. While strolling thru downtown Penn Yan one evening, we came across Mike who took the time to inquire about our day in the area. We have always stayed 'off the beaten path' in the past but thoroughly enjoyed staying on Main St in Penn Yan. We dined each night of our three night stay at a different local restaurant within walking distance of the Fox Inn. The food was good, service was prompt and pleasant. The local shop owners were gracious and charming, taking the time to chat with us.
This inn has a set menu of several items for you to choose tomorrows breakfast from and your choice of a 7:30 or 9:00 sitting . you experienced breakfast... the Inndescribly delicious breakfast. The first morning, we sat at a nicely decorated dining table for that could sit more than just the two of us,( but we were the only guests eating at 7:30 at this time.) Mike served hot coffee and your selection of a variety of fresh melon balls or yogurt. It would take too long and way too many adjectives to describe the breakfast we had each morning, but they all were excellently prepared and delicious. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words so I have included two breakfast pictures in this review. The menu provided by the Inn says it all!!! Perfection can't be rushed and Mike didn't rush us either, so if you are looking to an early start to your day, arrange for an early sitting OR skip breakfast(definitely not a wise choice).
.
Mike was pleasant, witty, attentive and informative while making us feel right at home from the beginning to the end of our stay( which included two large white chocolate chip cookies for the long ride back to Connecticut). He and his wife Tanya have created a delightful and pleasant Bed and Breakfast on Main street , Penn Yan, NY. In a time when the pace of life is fast and furious,to encounter nice people, a quiet location(yet conveniently situated) and outstanding service is a rare treat.
In closing , we wish to say to Mike and Tanya, Thank you for an exceptional Fingers Lake experience!!!!!
Best of wishes in the future!!!!!!!.
We would definitely return to The Fox Inn Inn bed and breakfast again. !!!!
