Description
Circa 1809. Adjacent to Mary Baldwin College in downtown Staunton, the oldest city in the Shenandoah Valley, this small hotel consists of seven renovated buildings with modern conveniences. Guest bedrooms and suites, some with balconies or fireplaces, are furnished with antiques, Oriental carpets, robes and TVs. A comfortable reading and writing area features Internet access. Breakfast is served in Chumley's Tearoom and includes a choice of homemade specialties, breads and fresh fruit. The Dining Room serves lunch and dinner made with local and regional produce, simply yet stylishly prepared. Owners and innkeepers Joe and Evy have been offering their warm hospitality since 1984 and will readily assist with trip planning. Don't miss Shenandoah Shakespeare's Blackfriars Playhouse, one of the world's two authentic Shakespeare theaters, just two blocks away.

Only one thing better than the great room, awesome breakfast, wonderful libraries, beautiful fall leaves--and that is Evy and Joe! Thanks so much. This is the best and most consistent B&B we have even been too. Love staying here twice a year while I attend MBC meetings. Thanks for keeping this special place so great!

Beautiful House
Thanks for making the room so squeaky-clean and comfortable! I enjoyed the Virginia hospitality. The furnishings and decor are beautiful.
