Historic Interest

Creole Mansion was built 1820 as the law office and home of Christian Rosaleus, founder of Tulane Law School. His writings are found in Louisiana Law and he was Attorney General of the U.S. when the South seceded from the union. He was also a close friend of Gen. Sherman, who was president of Louisiana University at the time and a frequent visitor at the mansion.
