Peaceful place

Aloha!!!! Peace of Maui is a very friendly place, also really peaceful and nice! I enjoyed the people I met while staying here. I loved walking around your property and taking in the views of Mt. Haleakala. Picking mango and starfruit and eating it right there while looking out at the ocean views. Thank you Peace of Maui!! (Israel, Nahariya)

Perfect Location

Dear Tammi, We enjoyed your house very much-perfect location, nice gardens and flowers and a very comfortable room! I will definitely recommend your "God's Peace of Maui" to my clients travelling to Hawaii! A little tip for other readers, don't do the Hana Hwy round trip inclu. Hwy 31 through the S. route in 1 day - its exhausting, especially if you want to stop several places. I suggest to stay over in Hana then it will give you more time to see all the beauty of Hana and the "road to Hana" has to offer. (Switzerland)

Beauty of Maui

Thank you for making such a lovely place for people to relax and enjoy the beauty of Maui. My grandaughters had a wonderful visit here with their Aunties and Grandma. You provided everything we needed and more. A nice clean and quiet place to land after a long day of visiting with family. Much Aloha to you and your family! (Salem, Oregon)

Its Cheap

We stayed here for 5 nights in Feb 2013, we chose this based on the reviews we read. I suppose if your used to living kinda dirty you would consider this clean. However, the toilets or showers were not cleaned during our time there. There are 5 room full of people using 2 showers, and 2 toilets. They where usually free but definitely needed cleaning. The room was extremely small with very little place to put your things. We didn't watch tv, but in case your wondering it is a little 12" old fashion job. I suppose its not terrible for what your paying. But those glowing reviews are kinda BS as far as I was concerned. So I figure if your gonna stay here you might as well know the truth.

AWESOME! 7-Days

I stayed over a week and loved every minute of it! The location is VERY beautiful and out in the country which I appreciated. I enjoyed the fact I could mingle with other guests in the common room or if needed be alone in my room.

Quiet and Peaceful

My son and I stayed here July 2010...there were mostly Europeans with their children...and everyone is usually gone for the day. At night it was quiet and peaceful; just what you need after a long day sight seeing. This is the place to stay if you want to get back in the evening and shower, read, then go to sleep. No parties, no drinking, no loud talkers...great!!

quiet and friendly

Nice and quiet place to stay, affordable, clean and friendly. Located in a very good position, close to the nice Paia village and its beaches. You can easily visit all the places in Maui while based here. It is also very pleasant to spend time with other guests in the common kitchen. We spent here very nice days. Aurora & Mario (Italy)

Always coming back

I was introduced to the Inn by a friend a long time ago, and have been coming back since then. My son and I stay here every time we are back, he can leave and wander around the property with no worries - the family is always amazing, and you can't beat the proximity to Haiku and Paia - truly living like locals!

Our 2nd stay - We shall return

Uniquely situated in a semi-rural area, yet walking distance from a fabulous restaurant, a stay at Peace of Maui is the perfect way to take a real break from the temptation to do too much on vacation. The word serene comes to mind. The accommodations are clean, the other guests are courteous and friendly. I have stayed twice with my wife and another couple for the last night on Maui before leaving for airport. The restaurant is the Haile Maile General Store.

Stay in Hali'imaile

I would highly recommend Peace of Maui as a place to spend some time...Good spirit...great location...great price. You need to be sure you will be comfortable with other folks in the same space...but during my stay, they were all very nice. Great meditation/tai chi space in the back yard in view of Haleakala.

Beautiful and Peaceful

We stayed here in March of 2012. It was very clean, quiet, and peaceful. The owner is a very kind, chill person. Dinner and a beach sunset are just mere minutes away in Paia Town - very fun atmosphere in the evenings. We enjoyed the hot tub in the late evening, while stargazing and listening to nothing, but the sounds of various wild life chirping all around us. This was the first time I have ever stayed in a place with shared bathrooms and it was such a relief to find several bathroom that were very clean and never unavailable. It was a stay that exceeded our expectations and we will be back!

Fresh Star Fruit Daily

I loved my stay at God's Peace. Tammi went beyond the call of duty for us. She brought us extra blankets and robes and gave me a ride into town. I am looking forward to staying there again. Happier for the experience, John Melham

Wonderful experience

I discovered this place when I went to Maui to visit my kids. This is by far the best place to stay on the island unless you are wanting to stay in a hotel the whole time you are there. Tammy is a very friendly and hospitable owner and goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is wonderful. I am sure she and I will never forget each other, due to the way we met and where we met, and because of her my visit was the best I have ever had on the island of Maui. I can't imagine ever staying anywhere else on the island. I am definitely a repeat customer.

Beautiful surroundings

We thoughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property for your travel stay. Chose to stay here for upcountry eploxploration, the town of Makawao, save time to Halealkala crater. Clean, well appointed and lots of extras. Soak in the jaccuzzi on the veranda area and enjoy a self serve light breakfast before you go. BTW the room refrigerators are a good size, gallon of mlk fits and are well cooled for left-over food from dinner of odds and end treats for your travels. Thank you for a wonderful stay. God Bless all.

Don't stay here

Do yourself a favor. Skip this place. Find something good. Horrible experience. I called with questions after booking before my arrival and recieved no response. I should have known something was wrong. This is nothing more than a hostel. When I arrived I could not find the place in the dark. I drove for 2 hours and called the phones numbers over and over with no response at all. I finally found the place. No lights were on. 2 dogs came out. There were no people. I could not see a thing. No one was there. I sat in my car ready to go find a hotel when a couple arrived and showed me how to find my room. They said they had the same experience but figured it all out. They said no one had been there but there was a note with a key. They say breakfast is included on the website. If you call a bag of oatmeal a breakfast with black coffee a breakfast to wake up to. You have to bring your own milk? There was one piece of fruit in a basket with a bug in it. The woman who runs the place went away for the weekend and refused to answer her cell phone. Another woman carried my very bags in since I could not drag them on the gravel. The next day the husband was so concerned when he heard how upset I was. He tried to make it up to me. I had also fallen in the dark. He was extremely nice. The wife did not even acknowledge the fact that I was upset. She is on the very snippy side. So.. 40 days later I get a call that my card was not going through?? I had been there 40 days ago. They said they tried to charge the card a few times and it didnt go through.. There was plenty of money to cover the bill until about a week prior to the call. I asked that she give me one - two days to go to the bank to put the money in. She clearly had neglected to charge my card until 4o days later. I had advised I would bounce checks the account was low and I would transfer money.. SHE WENT AND CHARGE THE CARD IMMEDIATELY after she agreed to wait unitl I went to the bank!!! I sent her an email expressing my disgust only to be told " For you to turn it on me like I did something wrong is pretty messed up, unprofessional and uncalled for. :" I had expressed how upset I was that she charged my card without allowing me to go to the bank per the conversation, verbal agreement!! She did not care that it would make all the checks coming in bounce and did it any way. She blamed me for mismangement of my funds. Who do you know that charges a card 40 days AFTER the stay!! There was plenty of money in the account up until about the 30th day after the stay. Who expects a charge 40 days later?? She has an extremely nasty attitude and does not know how to treat a customer!!

Management Response
Our client stayed with us for 3 nights. The things that were written are 1/2 truths and very slanted. We offer our clients a simple breakfast of instant oat meal and granola bars, tropical fruit from our property when available or fruit cups. We provide filtered water, coffee, hot coco for the kids along with packaged creamers and sweeteners. We live on the property and are here most the time. Sometimes we miss our clients calls. We get back to them as soon as we can. We have bright white christmas lights on our fence and lining our drive way. When the customer came in that night someone had turned off the outside porch light. Another customer came in and offered help with the luggage and showed our client around. When we came back from the movies we met our client. We apologized about the missed call and the light being off. They never mentioned falling and hurting themselves. Our client had many conversations with Mika and enjoyed interacting with others as well. Our client stayed the entire 3 nights reserved and did not ask to leave or refund for anything that had happened. Our client left happy and satisfied. It is our policy with our clients to charge the card when our clients arrive. In this case we forgot to charge the card. We tried a week after the client left and 2 more times. 3 weeks had gone by. We called the client and was told they were going to the bank that day. I waited for the end of my day and charged the card and it finally went through. We only collected the funds due for service rendered. Therefore it triggered negative reviews and vendictiveness from our client in which we have no control over. We never knew they were this unhappy until the card was charged. We are sorry they feel they have to slander us over monies owed.
