Circa 1889. Ideally located in the heart of downtown Aspen, the Independence Square is the only hotel on Aspen's downtown walking mall. Offering convenience for skiers and sightseers, the historic boutique hotel is only one block from Aspen Mountain's Silver Queen Gondola and steps from Rubey Park, where free shuttles ferry skiers and snowboarders to Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass. The interior common spaces were renovated in 2017, and each air-conditioned guest room features unique décor, ranging from mountain contemporary designs to rustic lodge motifs. Guests praise the Independence Square's friendly staff, daily continental breakfast, rooftop sundeck and hot tub, complimentary health club passes, free neighborhood parking, and concierge services.
