Description
Circa 1746. Drive to the tip of the peninsula in Cape Charles, Virginia, to rejuvenate at this historic bed and breakfast. The Georgian Colonial style home was built using 18th century bricks from England and floor boards from an old tobacco mill. The stories don't end with the building materials; the inn was part of the Underground Railroad and hid smuggled goods from the King. Spend a romantic weekend in one of the four guest rooms. The two suites have private balconies with views of the dazzling sunset over the Chesapeake Bay. Guests may bring their own small boat to the private dock or simply sit and dip their toes in the water. Try the creme brulee French toast or apple brown butter crumble in the morning then return for a fantastic dinner in the evening. Remain in the Bunbury Bar for a friendly game of pool or darts. The local town has shops, kayak rentals, and award-winning golf courses.
