Description
Circa 1860. Fashioned entirely of brick, this historic building conjures up images of the Old West. In fact, this inn once served as the Baxter Bank building and was robbed by Jesse James in 1876. The restored inn includes its original hardwood floors and transoms above the doors. Rooms are decorated with antiques. There is a kitchen available for guest use. Guests are treated to a full, country breakfast in an upstairs dining room. Lunch and dinner also are available in the inn's restaurant. The inn rests on historic Route 66, which offers many interesting attractions along its path. Baxter Springs is Kansas' first cow town.
