Description
Circa 1867. Experience the glamour of the 1800s in this three-story Vermont marble bed and breakfast in Fair Haven, Vermont. Relatives of Revolutionary War hero Ethan Allen built this exquisite French Second Empire home with 12-foot high ceilings, Georgian style plaster crown moldings, herringbone pattern wood floors and fireplaces with hand carved mantles. It was the first house in town to have electricity. Marvel at the unique peacock wallpaper in the Jane Austen Room. Relax in the pink and silver J. R. R. Tolkien Room. All five guest rooms are named after classic authors. The inn offers an expanded continental breakfast and afternoon tea. Many festivals and events are hosted on the village green right outside the doors of the bed and breakfast. Walk to quaint shops and restaurants in the business district. Explore the Vermont Marble Museum, Pember Museum of Natural History or Hubbardton Battlefield Museum. Lake Bomoseen, the largest in the state, is a short 12-mile drive from the inn.
