Unique spot for a romantic getaway
I've been to Morning Glory twice, and it's one of my favorite spots for a nice weekend. While it's located on the edge of the bustling Catskill village of Woodstock, you'd never know it. The home is on a sizable and very scenic tract of land on a creek. But it is just close enough to the center of Woodstock that you can walk on sidewalks to shop, eat in some fine restaurants, or just people watch in one of the best villages for that sport I have ever been in!
Many people think Woodstock is where the historic 60's rock festival took place, but it is actually 50 miles southeast of Bethel. But Woodstock has become the capital of "all things 60's," and many gift shops capitalize on the festival.
Pansy, the hostess makes great breakfasts, and is very helpful with suggestions on what to see and do. The rooms are a little small, but are very nice, with private bathrooms and comfortable beds. The rate for a weekend here is extremely reasonable, especially since there aren't many lodging choices right in Woodstock. I have felt at home here, and will most certainly return again.
