In all seasons the rail trail takes you door to door to one of two favorite artisan microbreweries. Running along side the rail trail, the Lamoille River offers refreshment and fly-fishing. Willy Dietrich can teach you how to cast and catch. In less than a five minute walk into town, you can enjoy an art show or dance class at River Arts, great eats at the Bees Knees and Moogs, take in a picture show at the Bijou Theatre, shop at Haymaker Gift Shop, and take a step back into time at the Noyes House Historical Museum. Hidden treasure, Moss Glens Falls, is only three miles away, and nearby Elmore State Park has a mountain for hiking and a lake for swimming and boating. A quick ten-minute drive through farm country brings you to one of Vermont's best natural area, the Green River Reservoir. Ken Hagget's team of huskies wait eagerly to pull your dogsled on wooded trails in Elmore and at night, John's horses at Applecheek Farm will pull your sleigh by moonlight through lantern lit woods. Bundle up! How romantic. The more popular town of Stowe is only 7 miles south of Morrisville and Johnson State and Sterling Colleges are nearby.
