If there is any single word that can best describe North Stonington it is history. This Connecticut town is actually a huge museum because of its many historical buildings and other structures. North Stonington itself has a number of locations that have been listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The John Randall House, which is southeast of the town, is one of these. The Samuel Miner House in the north is another. The more recent addition in the list is the North Stonington Village Historic District. In order to provide guests with the same historic feel, North Stonington bed and breakfast inns also have structures reminiscent of the colonial and Victorian past. The town has several restaurants that provide a variety of cuisines. Among these are Custy's International which is popular for its salad bar and Green Onion Pizza Restaurant, said to be the best pizza in the entire town.
