True Oasis

We just returned from a wonderful weekend in Austin . Innkeeper Shakti was very helpful throughout, giving recommendations before we even arrived! The property is very special. A beautiful courtyard with pool and plenty of space to relax and re-energize. Breakfast daily is fresh and delicious. 3 Private cottages extremely well appointed with all you could need away from home. Walking distance to the famed South Congress, truly no car needed. Super comfy mattresses and GREAT coffee in your room as well. We will return soon we hope

A Destination in and of Itself

Nestled in the SoCo area of Austin is the most relaxing and restorative little enclave otherwise know as the Park Lane Guest House. Your hostess, Shakti, created and serves the amazing retreat that she built herself over the course of 20 some years (ask her about the story), some houses from all reclaimed materials. . . . enveloped by lovely gardens, a hand tiled pool that really feels more like a grotto. . . . . and the most amazing breakfast delivered right to your door. The attention to subtle details transports you to a quiet contented serenity. The entire experience is a delight to the senses and the soul. Pure Joy!

Glorius in-town retreat

My husband and I just returned from our second stay at Park Lane Guest House. We LOVE this urban get-away, a few quiet blocks from Austin’s ultra-hip “SoCo” (South Congress Ave), where trendy restaurants, live music, one-of-a-kind shops, and local coffee shops abound. The grounds are peaceful and quiet - a walled garden oasis replete with running fountain and beautiful pool. We stayed in the Garden Cottage, perfect for a couple’s weekend. (We stayed in the wonderful Carriage House for our first stay.) Filled with antiques, wonderful textiles and art, little guest conveniences, and amazingly comfortable beds, each guest cottage is a world of its own. Semi-private porches look out onto the central courtyard, shaded by a huge old oak tree. Somewhat incongruously, these cottages, which have been so lovingly renovated to evoke a 1920s charm, are ultramodern in their plumbing, heating/cooling, etc. Ready for a gourmet breakfast? Eggs from their hens, grapefruit from their tree ... a truly special repast. And brought to you by one of the cheerful owners with the friendliest little pups to greet you. We will return to Park Lane.
