outstanding innkeeper
This historically significant home is a fine example from the period when this island's granite was in high demand. One always hopes for a comfortable stay, but what really makes a stay memorable is its innkeeper. We found Donna to have a wealth of knowledge of the island and its people which she was eager to share. Her breakfast is something you will not soon forget!
We are sure you will enjoy any time spent at the Moses Webster House!

Friendly Relaxing Romantic
Donna is a warm, wonderful and sincere hostess. She even had my tea water ready each morning...I loved that special attention. The Payne Homestead/Mosses Webster House's history is a pleasure to indulge in via the architecture and the old books. The Coral room is cozy and comfortable. The Rose room and Mama's room are spacious with room to move around. Home cooked breakfasts are varied and delicious. Donna inspired a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. And the baby doves took their first flight!!! We will return for more. Thank you Donna.

Perfect Maine Getaway
We highly recommend a getaway at the Payne Homestead on Vinalhaven. We immediately received a warm welcome and felt completely at home in this beautiful historic home. Our room (Rose room) was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The location is perfect, very close to town (less than 3 minute walk), however set back enough to allow for quiet and privacy. We cannot wait to go back!

Would return in a heartbeat
My girlfriend and I stayed here with another couple recently and would gladly return again. We were made to feel very welcome and were well taken care of. Donna was a great host and you do NOT want to miss out on her scrambled eggs! Each breakfast we were served was delicious and homemade, you could taste the care she put in her food. As for the comfort of the B&B, it was quite nice. Our room was quite large and private. Also, the patio out back made for a great place to enjoy a beer or 3. Overall, a very pleasant experience. We have all said we'd gladly return and may do so sooner than later. Thanks again Donna :)
