A Perfect Day in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Everyone can have a very unique travel experiences in Lancaster County. We suggest first booking an Amish buggy ride with Aaron and Jessica's Buggy Rides at Plain & Fancy Farm in nearby Bird-in-Hand so you can ride through two Amish farms on a private country road without cars. The ride is 3.5 miles long and includes riding over a covered bridge. During your buggy ride, ask for recommended shops or farms to visit to gather items for a fabulous picnic or discover your own finds by meandering among the area's Amish food stores. You might pick up a Shoofly pie at the Dutch House and then stop by the Pretzel factory and one of the cheese factories for bread, cheese and sausage.

Then drive through the country side and pull over from time to time to photograph the one room school houses, barns and bucolic scenes. Choose your a picnic site and work it off if it's summer by driving over to Lunenburg to Curt's Corn Maze where you can wander through the rows, pat the sheep and buy flowers. Before dinner take the steam train.
