Memorable stay
Thank you for the wonderful and memorable stay. Anna loved the dogs and getting to pet the horses and donkey. Feeding them was a special treat. The kids LOVED the blankets and the breakfasts. Thank you for all your thoughtfulness.
I will be recommending you to all my friends.

Beautiful and relaxing
You certainly have a beautiful place here. I could lie in the hammock in the sun by the hour :) You have made our stay delightful for every one of us. Loved the breakfasts, the campfire and the s'mores.
Thanks so much for everything.
Many blessings!

Great for Kids!!!
We stayed at Persephone's Farm Retreat with our 4 year old daughter and had a wonderful time. We stayed in one of the two available cabins. Miss Victoria brought a delicious kid-friendly breakfast for us each morning. The cabin was clean and was even stocked with snacks and drinks! We are planning to make it a yearly trip.

Wonderful child-friendly B&B!
My mother, 5 year old daughter, and I visited the farm Oct 4th - 7th. I wanted my daughter to see what it's like to be on a farm. I grew up on a farm and wanted her to experience a little of that. The place is beautiful, and Victoria was nice enough to let Evalyn help her with some of the chores (feeding the animals and gathering eggs). The breakfast each morning was very good too. We were able to tell Victoria what kind of things we like to eat for breakfast and she made those for us. Evalyn hated to leave the horses. All of the animals are very friendly and love attention. This is a beautiful place to relax and be close to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Repeat visitors
We stayed at Victoria's beatiful place 3 times over the last 5 years, and it is one of our most favorite places to be. We have two children, and they fell in love with this place from the very first time. It is now part of our family and their childhood. Victoria is a wonderful hostess, so attentive, you do feel like you are visiting a family member. She goes above and beyound service to make youy feel at home. Her breakfasts are so delicious! I highly recommend visiting at any time of the year fo warm smiles, total relaxation in the Smokies.

Our home away from home
We have stayed here every year, for over a decade. It brings a peace to our souls beyond description. Victoria is a treasure and the beauty of the property draws us once or twice a year. Enjoy the treasure of eastern Tennessee. We'll let you decide if it is Victoria or Perephone's ;-)

Persephone’s – a friendly hideaway offering peace, quiet and animals
God’s fortune led us to this delightful treasure. My mother-in-law visits her brother in Sevierville, TN one week out of every year. We share responsibilities with other family members getting her there and back. This year, it was our turn to pick her up at the end of her weeklong visit. The trip is a 5 hour drive from our hometown of Decatur, AL. It makes for a long day to drive up and back in the same day. This year, we opted to stay overnight in Sevierville prior to the return trip.
As luck would have it, there were few affordable hotels within visiting distance of our destination. But God had a much better plan for the Haynes’ family. In passing conversation with a colleague, I learned that his mom, Victoria, owned a bed and breakfast 3 miles down the road from our family in Sevierville. And she just happened to have a vacancy the one night we needed to rest before our return.
We looked up Persephone’s Bed and Breakfast before leaving our hometown. What a delight!! The website promised eight miniature horses, a potbelly pig, Great Pyrenees and a handful of cats! All situated on the French Broad waterfront. We made every intent to leave home early so that we could spend time on this lovely farm before visiting relatives for dinner.
We arrived at Persephone’s at sundown. Met at the gate by Victoria and a Great Pyrenees, whose bark was way worse than his bite, we were welcomed like old friends. She quickly settled us into the very comfortable “Begonia” cabin and gave us the storied background of how she came to own such a grand home and farm. The beautiful main house is over 100 years old and the two cabins on the French Broad were designed and built under her direction. There’s an old barn on the property that has stood the test of time. Oh, the stories that one could spin of the animals that lived in these stalls over the years!
Given free rein, we explored until the sun set and darkness covered the property. It was all that was advertised and then some! God’s hand is evident in the serenity that surrounds this place. We made fast friends with the big dogs, Leroy, the bloodhound that was all ears and elbows, and the eight miniature horses! Cats roamed at will, maintaining their respectful distance. After dinner with family, we felt fortunate to return to our quiet cabin for a restful night surrounded by such a friendly atmosphere. Over a nightcap before bed, we discussed the providence that led us to such a lovely spot, and how this could easily become one of our favorite places to visit. And the good night’s sleep that we experienced that very night reinforced our first impressions.
We awoke the next morning, with much regret, that we only had one short night at this most peaceful spot. Oh how we longed for a cup of coffee on the large porch overlooking the French Broad, but time and temperature were not on our side. We reluctantly left this small piece of heaven. Victoria met us on our way out to wish us well. We promised to return. And we absolutely mean it!!! We could get used to living like this.
