Description
Circa 1885. Pinehurst Inn Bed and Breakfast is open year-round and sits on more than three acres among soaring white pines and beautiful gardens with many native plants, and just a short walk to Lake Superior. Guest rooms are located in both the Main House, built in 1885 by the prominent lumber baron R.D. Pike with lavish woodwork and an intricately carved staircase leading to the guest rooms, and the Garden House, built in 2003 with larger guest rooms and eco-friendly features including solar panels. Each accommodation has its own style and personality and has been furnished and decorated with our guests' comfort in mind. Pinehurst Inn is the ideal base from which to enjoy all that the Bayfield area has to offer, including hiking and biking one of the picturesque local trails, kayaking the sea caves of Lake Superior, exploring the Apostle Islands, cross-country skiing, and dog-sledding, as well as downhill skiing and tubing on Mt. Ashwabay just minutes for the inn. After your day of fun and adventure, come home to Pinehurst Inn to enjoy the complimentary snacks, soft drinks, coffee, tea and hot chocolate and unwind in the outdoor sauna or simply relax by the fire or on one of the inn's porches or patio.
