Amazingly Southern
The property is amazingly Southern, ringed by huge live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. There is a dock that goes out into the marsh behind the Inn, just adding to the charm and ambience. Steve, the Innkeeper, greeted us on arrival letting us know that since they were not booked up for our stay (which was a Sunday - Tuesday), that he had upgraded us to a larger room with private bath. We were delighted with the Plantation Room and its huge four poster bed and heavy, matching furniture...lots of little southern touches to the room, like little sconce lamps with dangling crystals, etc. The bed itself was like sleeping on a cloud...it was that comfortable.
We were out all day -- and Steve's delicious breakfasts fortified us for walking all day through beautiful Charleston (about a 15-minute drive...easy). The first morning he prepared a fruit parfait with fresh berries, yogurt and granola; a Ham, egg and cheese Panini (on Homemade bread) and a slice of homemade coffee cake. The second day we had fresh fruit; an egg, cheese and hash brown crumble and blueberry muffins for something sweet. Steve is an excellent cook! The coffee was delicious (I'm a big coffee lover)...so I really couldn't ask for more! Highly recommend this if you are headed to Charleston. It's right next door to the beautiful Boone Hall Plantation (site of the filming of "North and South" and "Queen" with Halle Berry and many others) with easy access to Highway 17.
Please note that this is a child-free hotel (we didn't mind that one bit!). If you are looking for comfortable, quiet and near to Charleston in a beautiful setting -- this is for you. We will definitely go back!

Best kept Secret in Charleston & Mt Pleasant area
Steve and Phyllis run a very nice B&B just outside of Charleston, SC in Mt. Pleasant. It is very close to downtown Charleston as well as Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms Beach. The rooms are nice and quaint, the setting is gorgeous, the house is beautiful and wonderfully kept, the breakfasts are delicious and the hosts our very gracious and helpful. They let you come and go as you please and are very accommodating. By far the best B&B I've stayed at in a very long time!
