Description

Circa 1866. This 5,000-square-foot Italianate Victorian was owned by the same family for more than 100 years (until 1994). Located in the heart of Cambridge, the inn is within walking distance of Harvard University, MIT and the Boston Freedom Train Trolley Tours. The inn, including its three guest bedrooms, has a Victorian décor that makes the most of an eclectic collection of antiques, including two grand pianos in the parlor. Period details are evident throughout the charming inn, from classic archways to cut-glass windows and extraordinary marble fireplaces. The delightful breakfast is served in the Victorian dining room and includes a variety of freshly baked breads, pastries, scones and muffins, a fresh-fruit bowl, juices and eggs to order. Afternoon tea is available upon request. After breakfast, guests can head out on foot or grab the subway or bus, which are just a few minutes' walk from the inn, and explore the area's rich history. Metropolitan Boston is just across the river from the inn.

Perfect B&B to Enjoy Boston

I was so grateful to find this perfect B&B to stay in while visiting Boston. The location is excellent - a three minute walk to the Red Line "T" at Central Square and a bus stop is only 80 feet from the front door. I loved my room and particularly enjoyed the armchair with the throw blanket and lamp to enjoy a comfortable read in the evenings. Amazing hosts who genuinely care about you that make this a true "home away from home." Lauren from Vancouver, Canada

What a cool house and great hosts! This B&B is even better in person than the beautiful pictures on their website. Wonderful in every way. Louie & Amy, Colorado/Arizona April 2018

Incredible Hospitality!

What an incredible atmosphere of Victorian refinement and imagination is provided for anyone seeking solace in home-like setting. The spacious rooms allow one to breathe and stimulate the imagination with their high ceiling and charming decor. And one meets such interesting individuals at breakfast, which in itself is a tremendous treat with it choice of gourmet breakfast pastries, that are different every day, fresh fruit, eggs and omelettes, or grain cereals and yogurts. Enjoyable ... I'll be back!

Like being at home -- except a much bigger, more elegantly appointed home with a friendly inn keeper who makes you breakfast and cleans up after you! Very convenient, clean and enjoyable.

Isle of Solitude

There is an inn called Prospect Place - an isle of solitude from Boston's rat race between Harvard and MIT and furnishings high class. Leaves memories that can't be erased.

Captivating!

This "Florence" is almost as good as the one in Italy. Last minute decision to try a bed and breakfast & so glad I did. Feels like staying with nice relatives, quiet & cozy - warm & welcoming. I'll be back.

Great place, nice hosts, convenient

Thoughtful canopy on a quiet street, warm welcome in the chilling winds, ancient decorations in the beautiful house, together with the meticulous concerns in the hosts' tender hearts, build up a genial home far away from my own home. I enjoyed their harmonious family member relationships, drinking in their whispers from everyone's soul. Surely I am willing to stay with them again and again if I have chances to come to Cambridge in the future.

Great Place for a Harvard training

I spent 5 nights here in late July and found it just what I was looking for - a lovely change of pace from a hotel for my week's institute. It took 20 minutes to get to Harvard (Ed School - which is on the far side of Harvard Square) and the price was far less than what I was seeing offered for the hotels closer in. The home was lovely, Eric was very accommodating, breakfast was lovely and the window air conditioner was up to the task in the muggy weather. Two blocks to Central Square T stop and food coop right across the street. My family dropped me off and the approach was very easy from I 90. It's nice when B&B's, which I usually associate with vacationing - can work this well for a work week as well.

Innkeepers were nice but the A/C was not working and had not been working for a while. It was hot in our room and the only recommendation they had was to open the window. I am from texas and it was still hard to sleep because of how hot it was. Breakfast was average but not bad.

Hospitality Abounds

Prospect Place is very conveniently located near the train station. Host's were extremely accommodating and served a delicious breakfast each morning! Meeting people from all areas of the world was an enriching experience. My daughter and I came to visit my son and left with an experience to remember and cherish always. Thank you Eric for being thoughtful and including my son as well. We enjoyed staying at your beautiful place and recommend it highly!
