Description

Circa 1860. A thick adobe wall surrounds the grounds of this bed and breakfast estate, once the home of a circuit judge. An authentic Indian "orno" oven is attached to the main house. Red brick pathways, old elm trees and a private hot tub add to the atmosphere. In the late afternoon, guests are treated to complimentary margaritas, wine and afternoon tea fare. The inn was selected as Santa Fe's second best Bed and Breakfast for the year 2000 by The Reporter, a local newspaper.

What's Green About Your Inn

Water conservation is extremely important in our region. Low flow toilets and show heads have been installed; organic cleaners are used and kitchen water is used on outside plants when applicable. Cutting back on washing has proved valuable to our desert water conservation efforts. We offer clean linens/towels each day, but if guests prefer to reuse them, we will gladly oblige!

Historic Interest

Built in early 1860s, originally a circuit judges home- complete with stables, servants quarters and a Indian bread horno completely surrounded by a thick adobe wall providing the current property with privacy and quiet grounds. Sold in the 1930s to a New York gentlemen who converted this pristine property to apartments providing homes for Santa Fe's starving artist population. Known for it's colorful history, it is said that a brothel as well as a grocery operated out of Pueblo Bonito at one point in the past. Amy & Herb Behm moved from Dallas, Tx as a young married couple to create the loved b&b as we know it today. Guests have enjoyed the authentic expereince of adobe, vigas, hard wood floors and nichos for the past 28 years!

Being named after such a wondrous historic site as Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon,
Pueblo Bonito Bed & Breakfast Inn has had a big plate to fill.
However, it appears that this quaint little Santa Fe B&B nestled in the heart of the old southwest,is indeed holding its own and has been a true delight to many of its patrons over the past 27 years.

Great Location, Great People!

Excellent location, easy walking distance to everything. Breakfast was very good, and filling. Owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this B&B, and will stay there next time we visit Santa Fe!

Santa Fe Pueblo Bonito Style!

A great multi-night stay at the very comfortable, relaxed Pueblo Bonito. Loved the traditional Santa Fe pueblo style and were made to feel right at home by Amy, Herb and their staff. The room, bed and bath were very clean and met all our needs. An awesome breakfast awaited us each morning which offered many more choices than we had expected. Amy and Herb readily answered our sightseeing questions and helped make this a memorable vacation.

More than a Bed and Breakfast.

We had an amaziing Santa Fe because of Pueblo Bonito b&b. The care and attention we received were over and above anywhere we've ever stayed- even 5 star hotels. Amy & Herb personally greeted us each morning at breakfast and took time to help us plan our day. We saw and did more memorable things than we would have been able to on our own. The time we spent was used efficiently and it was because of the attention we received from these charming people each day. They should be tour guides! Our accomodations made our trip come alive. The history of Pueblo Bonito and Santa Fe came alive at this unique and distinctively charming property. For its age- it is amaziing well preserved and it was a treat to be able to experience life as it once was through our stay at Pueblo Bonito. We hope to return again and see more of this intriguing area.

Loved Our Stay Again!

Just want to tell you how much we enjoy coming to our second home at Pueblo Bonito. The two of you are wonderful host. This was our best visit to Santa Fe, NM yet. Thank you for all you do in making our trip so great. Hope you have a great rest on the winter. Know you are going to be busy planning a wedding. Wow, how exciting! We hope to see you in the summer. If not, we will be back during the holidays. Actually talked about coming at Thanksgiving this year. Take care and love to you both.

Great Santa Fe B&B.

We had a great time to Santa Fe and Pueblo Bonito was a large reason for our enjoyment. Service impeccable. Rooms were lovely and so "Santa Fe". We would like to ask you the brand of decaf coffee you use-it was delicious! We'll see you again on our next trip to New Mexico. VIVA! Thanks

Authenic

You captured that quaint, authentic Santa Fe atmosphere, yet I didn't feel as if I had to sacrifice any modern conveniences.

Lovely Downtown Santa Fe b&b

We had a great time staying at Pueblo Bonito. The history of this property and the condition of its preservation was excellent. Enjoyed many unique characteristics of this historic adobe like a thick wooden entrance door (chili knocker was cool too), old vigas on the ceiling, adobe walls that bowed in in the bathroom, pedestal sink, lovely kiva, original layout.
