Rabun Gap is a small community, very quiet and peaceful, which makes it an ideal location if you are planning to go on a retreat. Rabun County is known as one of the few areas in Georgia that did not secede from the Union during the Civil War. You can learn more about this part of history as you visit the 19th century homes and museums. Among the sites to see here is the nearby Chattahoochee National Forest. Aside from this, there are several natural scenic spots such as Lake Burton and the challenging ridges and summits like Rabun Bald and Dick's Knob.
