The joys of being here are many ...

Aimee & Tom, the joys of being here are many. These include open-heartedness, joy, enthusiasm, kindness, and yes, loving-kindness. I recently had occasion to encourage a student who felt doubtful that he could establish a sense of "community" among strangers. I offered him the idea of "the family of strangers" -- a more intimate-feeling thing. Lot & behold! I have been gifted with that very thing here. Keep smiling and laughing and loving ... life!

The perfect environment for rest ...

We are often in Appleton to visit family, but have never enjoyed the city as tourists. With Justin in school and working full time our life is very busy, and it was so nice to drop our son off with grandma and grandpa, relax in a gorgeous room, and celebrate seven years of marriage together. Rest is just what we needed ... thank you for providing the perfect environment for it!

Wonderful, relaxing stay

Tom & Aimee, just wanted to give our thanks for a wonderful, relaxing stay. Tom, our 3rd year anniversary night, dinner @ Carmella's and the champagne was so wonderful. The tub was incredible -- both of us went for a good soak because our bones aren't what they used to be!! Anyways, great breakfast -- you more than accommodated for my weird dietary needs. Many blessings -- we have been recommending The Roost to everyone -- the Lambeau PARKING PEEPS -- all were interested. Hope you get some more fans!! Take care. Like walking back in time into a beautiful English manor ...

What a wonderful surprise upon pulling up in front of your B&B, gazing upon such a beautiful building and its wonderful greenery. The most beautiful room we ever stayed in

The Bella Suite was the most beautiful room we ever stayed in. Breakfast was great and the hospitality made staying here even better. We can't wait to come back to The Roost, and don't ever want to stay at a hotel again after this experience. After freezing our butts off at the Green Bay Packers game, the warm bath and fireplace were heaven. Thank you.

Tom and Aimee, Thanks so much for a wonderful evening at The Roost. Your home is beautiful and the Meadow Room was very relaxing. We appreciated your attention to detail and were impressed with your safety demonstration. As a volunteer on our village's Medical Reserve Corps, we always ask people to prepare for a disaster, just in case. Let's hope that you never have to implement it, but thanks for thinking about all of our care and welfare and safety. I felt like royalty!

Tom & Aimee, You have a wonderful place here! I don't know how my husband found you, but I'm sure glad that he did! The Bella Suite is just gorgeous! And perfect for the start of a honeymoon (heart). You were such gracious hosts, and there wasn't anything that Jason & I desired that wasn't provided. And breakfast -- wow! I felt like royalty. We can't thank you enough for your kindness to us in letting us stay with you over Veteran's Day. It is humbling to be the recipients of your support of the military. During my husband's first deployment overseas, I remember so many dark days where it felt like no one understood or cared what we were going through. We've celebrated anniversaries at hotels, but they weren't nearly as nice!

Thank you, Aimee & Tom, for a wonderful weekend at your B&B as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. You were both warm & friendly hosts. We've celebrated other anniversaries at hotels but they weren't nearly as nice. Despite pouring rain outside all weekend, we were cozy in our room at night (and in the morning ... We knew the moment we stepped through the arched entry we were in for surprises. Every corner and shade of red at "The Roost" is fabulous. Thank you very much. Inviting. Charming. Scrumptious. Breakfast personal quiche with fresh ingredients and accessory palate treats (and garden tomato) were beyond expectations. Truly. Thanks for the fun and descriptive stories about being human, life passion, and traveling. The little leaf paintings near the floor in the dining room are examples of the detail throughout!

We had an absolutely amazing getaway here at The Roost -- we felt so welcomed the minute we walked in the door -- and truly hate to leave. The accommodations were beautiful, the food amazing & the hosts were truly the thing that made it a never-to-be-forgotten vacation!

Restorative serenity ...

As usual, waiting for words special enough to describe how amazing The Roost is fail me. I could say it is warm, welcoming and vibrant. I might tell you the serenity is restorative. The Bella Suite is just plain decadent!

What an absolutely fantastic way to spend a weekend! This was just a phenomenal escape from every stresses that we feel recharged and ready to face reality again. My wife and I had an amazing stay!

My wife, Deanna, and I had an AMAZING stay. We are recently married (on 11/11/11) and we weren't sure about having a honeymoon. I bought tickets for a Packers game at Lambeau for her birthday. We used our GPS to find The Roost. When she made the reservation she didn't tell me we would be staying at a B&B. I was confused while driving here; what a strange place for a hotel, in a residential neighborhood. I was STUNNED. Tom and Aimee are very friendly and pleasant. Tom suggested local fare in Appleton. Deanna and I chose to eat at Carmella's Italian Bistro. The food deserves several Michelin stars. The Hunt Suite and all the other rooms are very well kept and provided the ultimate romantic pseudo-honeymoon for my beautiful wife and I. I plan to recommend The Roost to friends and family when they are in the area. Post Scriptum: The cookies and breakfast were out of this world.

Dear Tom & Aimee: What a rejuvenating and refreshing stay we had! Between relaxing in the whirlpool and enjoying the romantic firelight, we had a weekend that we'll be reminiscing about for years to come. Thanks for the delicious wine and delicious breakfast. A place of peace and serenity ...

Thanks so much for providing a place of peace and serenity in this crazy, fast-paced world. I know that my friends and I loved it here. Nobody wanted to leave! You gave us a place where we could continue to bond our friendships and unwind from our hectic lives. We all feel more refreshed and will go back to our homes with more love and peace in our hearts. The surroundings and meals were fantastic. The beds were very comfortable. A piece of heaven!

A magical experience!

Simply Perfect!

We just stayed in the Tapestry Room of The Roost B&B. I have to be honest, I was a little nervous, booking a bed and breakfast. I LIKE the anonymity of a hotel. But man, this experience was second to none. All five of the rooms are beautiful. I like The Roost because it's more of a Tuscan/French Cottage style vs. a big, stuffy Victorian, which suits our tastes much better. The room was perfect, perfectly clean, complete with a two-person whirlpool tub right in the room. The bed was awesome ... my husband can't stop talking about it. I am really picky about food and the hosts accommodated my tastes. They also used local & organic goods, something I really appreciate. Bottom line, we will stay there again. You should, too. You will not regret it, I can promise you. I know I sound like a paid advertiser, but I am not. I was just so impressed. Forget the big, cold, chain hotel and support your local business.

A needed getaway

We are parents of five children and REALLY needed this getaway. The room was excellent ... every amenity you could possibly need. Lovely Hosts, Lovely Stay

I went to the Roost for a girls weekend in February and had an amazing stay. Tom and Aimee are lovely people, extremely gracious and friendly hosts. The rooms have a Tuscan flair, are spacious, immaculate and well appointed with super comfortable beds and luxurious linens. Every room has a fireplace and huge spa tubs with walk-in showers. Plus there's a common area for gathering with another fireplace. I stayed in the Sage Suite and adored the four poster bed with the stairs leading up to it :D Tom is an excellent cook and uses organic and locally sourced ingredients which I truly appreciate. The ham and egg braid was incredible. Looking forward to a return visit with my husband for a romantic getaway this summer. The gardens will be an additional delight I'm sure. They have a lovely gazebo which is winterized. It was a warm spot to gather with everyone on a cold but sunny Feb. day. It's hard to believe that Aimee and Tom are relatively new to B&B ownership. They are such naturals and really make their guests feel so special and welcome—extremely accommodating. They get it. It's all about service and attention to details. Highly recommend the Roost B&B.
