Description

The Rothschild-Pound House, an impressive Second Empire Victorian, is steeped in Columbus history and was once home to several prominent local residents. The home nearly was destroyed, but preservationists saved the historic gem and moved it to the town's historic district. Guests will enjoy a host of modern amenities, such as in-room mini refrigerators and coffee makers. Suites include a private kitchen. However, the innkeepers have maintained the Victorian romance, filling the home with beautiful antiques and a romantic decor with four-poster beds, silk bedspreads and fresh flowers. Several rooms include antique tubs. Breakfast is often Southern in style, with items such as fried apples or biscuits and gravy.

Dear Kristen and Mark, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed meeting you both when I stayed at your B&B last week. I admire your energy. I'm not sure that I could run a B&B, especially not one with as many rooms and cottages as you have. I absolutely adored my accommodations. I was in the Forsythe Cottage. Although Columbus is a nice community, I think I would have been just as happy if I never had to leave my room. Everything was delightful. Thanks. Regards, Lisa Halvorsen Colchester, Vermont
