While Glastonbury's central location is important, it enjoys some of the best transportation infrastructure in Connecticut. Route 2 has numerous exits in Glastonbury providing easy access to all areas of town. This highway also connects the Hartford region to southeast Connecticut and the Connecticut shoreline. The town of Glastonbury, in Hartford County, Connecticut, was established in 1693. Glastonbury sits on the banks of the Connecticut River. Its rolling hills provide a spectacular view of the city of Hartford's skyline. Glastonbury happens to have one of Connecticut's largest forests, the Meshomasic State Forest.
