Our stay in the Saddle House at 74

A wonderful getaway and pet-friendly, too! My dogs were as welcome as we were, and they had a great time at the ranch! We loved all the critters, including an orphan calf, and, of course, the dogs who are fortunate to live in that canine paradise. The scenery was spectacular -- fields filled with horses and cattle and the mountains in the background! One member of our party, an artist, couldn't resist pulling out her paints and capturing the lovely scene. Our meals were delicious and healthy, and fresh from the ranch gardens. Pam is amazing -- after long weekday commutes to Atlanta for her demanding job as a journalist, she still manages to cook breakfast for weekend guests at the ranch. She calls it her labor of love. Pam and Larry were exceptional hosts and their staff was also warm and attentive. They all made us feel so much at home, that when it was time to leave, we felt as if we were leaving family. Simple Pleasures

Having hearty morning coffee while I was rocking on the back porch was a great way to start each day. The view of the pasture was ever-changing as the cows and horses grazed. Stress melted away as the birds sang, guests visited, Larry shared entertaining stories, and then we were called in to a delicious breakfast! The staff made us all feel completely at home.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

I finally found it. The perfect close to home getaway. In addition to the western atmosphere (which is authentic as it comes this side of the Mississippi) the home was warm and inviting. Larry and Pam are wonderful entertainers and have many unique stories about their lovely ranch. The crown jewel of the ranch is certainly a horseback ride through their grounds. It is worth every penny, and a experience you won't soon forget
