“Great Food, Interesting Property”
Silver Heart Inn is on a busy street in Independence. The proprietors are very friendly and accommodated my wife's dietary needs happily. In fact, the food is probably the best we've had at a B&B, and we've been to a number of them.
The front bedrooms are large but near the busy street. We ran the air conditioner, so we didn't have a problem with noise. The back bedrooms are smaller but away from the street.

Our Saving Grace!
The Silver Heart Inn Bed and Breakfast was truly our life saver for our wedding! I can not put into words how wonderful this family is! They went above and beyond for us days before we arrived and till the time we checked out! They make us feel right at home! The Bed and Breakfast was two minutes away from our venue and with out them our wedding would not have been what it was! Our bed was super comfy and breakfast was beyond delicious!!! It was a wonderful place to stay!!

“Silver Heart Inn was excellent
My wife and I and my brother and his wife stayed there. It was wonderful! We loved the quaint decor and the lovely antiquity of this historic hotel. The furnishings were enchanting. It was like going back in time and staying at a 'Gone With the Wind' mansion. I felt like Clark Gable or a wealthy plantation owner. The hosts were sweet and gracious. The breakfast was excellent. We highly recommend staying there. We will be staying there whenever we pass through.
Room Tip: They have nice rooms to choose from.

“Gracious hosts - large vintage rooms - excellent location!”
We stayed at the Silver Heart Inn for two nights last week. Melanie (our hostess) was very helpful with dinner recommendations, and the stay was both relaxing and informative. Independence has just enough historical sights to fill a couple of days, and it was a very short trip into Kansas City for additional museums, etc. If you are coming to see the Harry S Truman sights (highly recommended), you can't find a better place to stay than right here. Very easy to find and just a few short blocks from Independence square. Only possible downside is that there were no king beds available, but we fit just fine in a queen! Very soft and comfy robes provided.

Awesome Hospitality
Very nice! The breakfast and the hospitality was awesome. The Bed & Breakfast has a lot of history and enjoyed hearing the family stories. Independence also has a lot of history and plenty to do.

Silver Heart Inn is Gold!
Just spending one night at this immaculate B&B demonstrates why they are already #1 in ratings. Loved hearing (when asked) Melanie and Perry's love story that led to the dream for this B&B. The bed was so very comfortable and the linens were beautiful. How thoughtful to be asked where we would like to sit in the dining room for breakfast - a table for two or to sit with other guests? There were packaged treats in the bedroom and a small refrigerator with complimentary beverages in the common area. The seasonal breakfast was truly gourmet. I do hope Melanie considers writing a cookbook with her favorite recipes - I'm ready to order my copy! Everything about her indicates that she truly loves her family, sharing their historic home, and serving others in a creative style. It is obvious that she and Perry make a great team as B&B owners. Sweet daughter, Lindsay, is already in training by helping serve breakfast! Our brief visit was a memory-maker!
