Perfection every time

If I want peace, serenity, and a stay at a B and B where the owners have put careful thought into every important detail, I go to Songbird Prairie. They think of all the little things that really make it stand out as the best B and B my husband and I have ever been to. We have returned multiple times and will continue to do so in the future. Praise for the Songbird B&B

The owner greeted us at the door. As we entered, the beautiful furnishings made us feel like honored guests in a home that was very special. I felt like I should whisper. What a wonderful, peaceful get away. The comfort of the room was far more than one could expect. We arranged ahead for a caterer to have dinner for us in the dining room. Our dinner was truly a gourmet delight. We will inform our friends of this delightful home. EVERYTHING was above our expectations!

Romantic and Relaxing

Quiet, peaceful romantic retreat

This is a frequent retreat for us partially because it is within driving distance of Indianapolis, but more importantly, because it is so relaxing and enjoyable. Everything from the beautifully decorated rooms to the elaborate presentation of the 3 course breakfast is by far the best we have ever experienced! This is one place anyone reading this should truly try at least once...I guarantee you will be pleased.

Outstanding Breakfast!

Birds hovering around the windows as their songs are piped into the room sets the stage for the beautifully plated three course breakfast. All fully edible seasonal flowers and herbs created a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. We loved our visit! Jan and Dave

Repeat guests for a reason

We have stayed at Songbird Prairie on three occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed each stay. This time we had the Cardinal Suite, and it is just gorgeous and luxurious. Barbara's three-course breakfasts are absolutely incredible -- as beautifully presented as they are delicious. Our Favorite Nesting Spot

This was our 11th Anniversary.We chose Songbird because it's a fabulous place. We stayed in the Cardinal Suite. We have stayed in 4 of their 5 rooms. Each one has been equally fabulous!!! Everything about it is wonderful.

Very relaxing

This was a very good B&B experience for my wife and me. We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted some "get away" time. The rooms was very well decorated. The chocolate truffles at bedside were a great touch. Breakfast was fantastic. The songbirds were all over the place!

Beautiful and Romantic Getaway

My husband Jason and I were looking for a bed and breakfast for a relaxing getaway. After reading its great reviews we went to Songbird Prairie B&B and couldn't have made a better desicion. The rooms were absolutly beautiful and no detail went unnoticed. The whirpool was so relaxing and I had the best breakfast I ever tasted. We can't wait to stay there again.

Perfectly Luxurious, Romantic B&B

There are not enough words to describe how much my husband Austin and I loved Songbird Prairie. We went for our honeymoon in the beautiful autumn season and the grounds were absolutely breathtaking with fall colors. Every detail at Songbird has been lovingly attended to and the rooms are spectacular - from gorgeous furniture and decor to luxurious linens and robes. The breakfasts are SO delicious and quite hearty, and are perfectly served in a sunroom surrounded by woods and bird feeders that attract a constant stream of cardinals, finches, blue jays, robins and more. We also got massages from a licensed LMT, Leslie, which was a wonderfully relaxing way to start the trip. All the arrangements for that were handled through the B&B. The owners are extremely personable and friendly and have put a tremendous amount of work into the B&B. I'm recommending Songbird Prairie to everyone I know, and my husband and I will *definitely* be back!

Can't wait for next year!

This was our second stay at songbirg prarie and it was even better than the first stay. i always thought that b&b's were for my parents (i'm 25), but my wife and i LOVE it here. we love the breakfast, the walking paths, the nature, the birds (yes, there are so many birds outside and barbara knows so much about them), and how close it is to our house in northwest indiana. in fact, during our second stay, we loved our room SO much that we stayed in all day on saturday and watched movies. the bed was the most comfortable bed my wife and i had ever slept in and we can't wait to go back and sleep in another room! so far, we've stayed in the warbler and the cardinal rooms and they are amazing. they're a far cry from the cold 'colonial' rooms with doilies everywhere that you see at other bed and breakfasts. can't wait to come back for our anniversary next year. ~Brendan and Liz

A night in the Bluebird

Twice I have stayed in the Bluebird suite at THE Bed and Breakfast of America. Ninety-nine percent of rooms you stay in (hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, friends houses, condos, etc...) feel like rooms you are staying in. This Bluebird suite, however, when the doors are shut, has you feeling right at home. Not that cozy "like home" feeling...but as if you never left...as if your life has always been just you and your spouse...no kids, no pets, no responsibilities....just you and your spouse and whatever you'd like to do. It is the perfect night away for ANY couple. You can plan a whole evening of dinner, pack the perfect items in your overnight bag, and make all the right moves to make your spouse know you love them....but the finishing touches will still be credited to the "keepers" of this perfect establishment. Their attention to detail, the lighting in the rooms, the sounds, the smells...they have created something that can not be described as anything less than PERFECT. For the record, I have been to plenty of bed and breakfasts...Also for the record, my wife and I will never attend one other than Songbird Prairie unless we are traveling... I give you my word, one night spent here will leave you feeling the same way.

A Romantic and Relaxing Experience

Words can not begin to describe how beautiful this place is and how wonderful the hosts are. My husband and I stayed here for our Honeymoon one night and we left wanting more. Six months later we stayed again, only this time for two nights, and we loved it. If you are looking for a romantic and relaxing experience, this is the place to go to get away. If I didn't live 15 hours away, I would go again!

I was visiting my boyfriend who lives in the area - we wanted to do something for each other that would be relaxing and romantic - after some research on the internet I decided (relatively last minute) that Songbird Prairie B & B would be a good thing for us to do - This was probably one of the BEST decisions we have ever made! The room was decorated to a T, the bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, the gift shop had super cute items at a great price, and we CAN NOT wait to go back. If you are looking for a magical place to stay that really puts an emphasis on the guests then the Songbird Prairie B & B is for you!

A beautiful find, very close to Chicago! We were going there to spend our 6th anniversary and found every little detail thought through and taken care of. The hostess was very accomodating and helpful. During our stay, there was a small morning-sickness problem and she was very helful through that bought. We left so refreshed and grateful for our stay. Our latest stay was specifically booked for the newest room-the Robin Suite. It was the most luxurious, warm, comforting, & relaxing of all the rooms we have stayed in. Nothing was left to chance.From the rich linens to the fluffy over-sized towels, everything about this inn exceeds your expectations! The innkeepers, Barbara and Efrain are the most gracious hosts and make their guests feel like royalty. The 3 course breakfast is by far the best we have ever had--anywhere! No one goes away hungry. We live in central IN and find the short 2-3 hour drive well worth the trip for a weekend get-away! We always look forward to our next trip.

Romantic Inn

Gracious hosts and wonderful accommodations make this a romantic get-away. The three course home-cooked gourmet breakfasts were a real treat and special touches in in the room were most enjoyable like the truffles at night. Being surrounded by birds outside and hearing them chirp made the breakfast room a delightful place to be.

Just coming up the drive, Songbird Prairie shouts out charm, romance, and comfort. It is truly a wonderful place to get-away although its location is not that far off the beaten path. We were lucky enough to get a short tour of some of the other rooms. Each one more charming then the other. The attention to detail, like the individual chocolates on the nightstand, comfy robes, and other personal touches make this the perfect romantic stay. We felt at times as though we were the only ones there. Bring a bottle of wine, fill up the tub with bubbles, light the fireplace, soften the lights and let the romance begin. You cannot help but feel love in the air in the beautiful country setting.

Songbird Prairie B & B was the most romantic bed & breakfast that we have ever stayed in. The innkeeper, Barbara, doesn't overlook a detail, whether it be in the way that she has decorated the rooms, the homemade truffles at the bedside, or the bath salts sitting along the ledge of the jacuzzi tub just waiting to be poured into the hot, bubbling water. As we walked through the front door, we were greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that smelled of freshly baked cookies that we could snack on in the sun room while listening to soothing music and watching the various wildlife through the large windows. Both mornings we were there we were served breakfasts that looked as if they came out of the pages of a magazine and tasted like they were prepared by some of the best chefs in the world. We would recommend Songbird Prairie B & B to anyone looking for a beautiful, romantic B & B to stay at...as a matter of fact, we already have!!

The Most Romantic!

This was our second time staying at the Songbird Prairie. We were amazed all over again! Barbara and Efrain are amazing hosts. We couldn't wait to get back for a "just because" stay. We were thrilled to be able to stay in their newest room, The Robin Suite. It is THE MOST ELEGANT room we have ever seen or imagined. We didn't think anything could be better than the one we stayed in the first time (the Blue Bird Suite). Barbara and Efrain haven't ceased to amaze us. They are blessed with a great gift of superb hospitality. We enjoyed the romantic cozy room, the romantic walk in the woods and the romantic breakfast while being serenaded by the songbirds outside the dining room window. This is a must have getaway for EVERY couple. Great way to re kindle those sparks of love!

Romance Abounds

We visited Songbird Prairie for our 10th wedding anniversary. Never having been to a B & B before, I was pleasantly surprised. It was sooo romantic and serene. Barbara's attention to detail was unbelievable. The rooms were decorated beautifully. The 3-course breakfasts were unforgettable. The presentation of the meals were gorgeous....fresh flowers and fresh herbs. At first I didn't even want to eat the food because it was such a lovely presentation, but then I couldn't resist. Sitting in the sunroom was very romantic as well. While eating breakfast, the songbirds would come right up to the window and sing. It was very interesting to learn about the different types of birds. Barbara and Efrain were fantastic hosts. I mentioned to my husband that I would love to celebrate future anniversaries at Songbird. It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience you'll never forget!!!

THE INN WAS IMMACULATE BARBARA AND EFRAIN COULD NOT DO ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU COMFORTABLE. THE WHIRLPOOL WAS VERY RELAXING. TO SIT AND WATCH THE BIRDS WAS A DELIGHT. THE BREAKFAST WAS THE BEST I EVER HAD AT A BED AND BREAKFAST. WE WILL BE RETURNING FOR A LONGER STAY.

Very Romantic!!

My husband and I spent two nights in the Bluebird Suite. Our room was so romantic. Barbara and Efrain have done a wonderful job of creating the perfect romantic getaway. Wonderful retreat

Our stay at the Songbird Prairie was wonderful. Her passion for the B&B really shines through with all the attention to detail. Our room was beautiful and so relaxing with the fireplace and jacuzzi tub. We peaked out the window just in time to see five deer wander through. As we stepped out of our room the next morning we were met with wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen. The breakfast alone was worth the trip, she is such a wonderful cook! We loved watching all the different varieties of birds flying around outside while we ate breakfast! What a wonderful experience! This is the best B&B that we have ever been too!

Delightful Details

From the moment my husband and I arrived we were warmly greeted at the front door by our host Barbara. Our time at Songbird Prairie Inn was enchanting. We stayed in the Bluebird Room, with it's lovely Bombay influenced decor. There was every attention to detail down to the pristinely ironed lace trimmed sheets and truffles under glass by each bed side. The mornings breakfast did not dissapoint either as we were served beautifully presented poached pears, fresh omelets, crispy bacon and warm apple pie. We will definitely return and have already given glowing reviews to many friends. Thank you Barbara for a wonderful and refreshing stay at your beautiful Inn!

Romantic Retreat

We simply can't say enough about Songbird Prairie B&B. From the moment we walked up the steps to the front door we enjoyed every moment we were there. Romantic 28th anniversary weekend.

The inn was beautiful, clean, warm and very friendly. Loved all the detail from sounds of the birds being microphoned inside, to the bath salts and lavender in our room, not to forget the plush robes. The whole experience brought a touch of romance to our weekend. We also enjoyed laying in the hammock in the woods lisitening to nature and seeing the beautiful surroundings. The food was very tasty, and beautifully displayed. We will go there again for another magical weekend.

Our Favorite Romantic Getaway
