A 1st Anniversary Romantic getaway

The year we got married, we couldn't afford a honeymoon. Our best man and my mother in law took our kids camping while we had one night in a motel. So, when our 1st anniversary was coming up, my husban surprised me with a trip to Victoria, BC! I was so excited, as I hadn't bee since I was a teenager. We stayed at Sonia's by the Sea, a lovely home with rooms and also a rooftop suite. My husband called ahead to Sonia and told her that this was a special anniversary for us, and could she get a dozen red roses to have in the room upon our arrival. Not only did she do that, she got out a special crystal vase and went to the local Farmers market to ge a dozen of the finest Royal Canadian Mounted Police Roses! Both Sonia and Brian (the hosts) are delightful. Sonia laid out a map of Victoria and showed us where the "locals" all go for the best High Tea; and it's NOT at the Empress Hotel!
