Loved the room and the hot breakfasts in the morning. There are only two rooms for visitors in the lodge, and no one else was there, so much of the time we had total privacy. The sauna and hot tub are wonderful. Rustic setting, lovely home, helped make this a great long weekend. Charles from Santa Fe April 2013

“Trop éloigné par rapport à Mesa verde dont l'accès au site est déjà bien long. Attention au long délaisimposé par les propriétaires pour modifier vos dates (les réduire notamment)) : ils sont inflexibles et exigent le paiement intégral; Money is money !” Jean from France Oct. 2012

“I may never stay in another Inn, for fear that it won't stack up to the Sundance Bear Lodge. It is the perfect place to relax. Bob and Sue Scott are friendly and accommodating hosts - they seem like old friends after just one visit.” Daniel – Colorado Sept 2012

“Ce Bed and Breakfast, pas comme les autres, vous accueille comme si vous étiez de la famille. Le confort est total et les services offerts sont excellents. A déconseiller aux pete-secs... mais à recommander à tous ceux qui aiment les contacts chaleureux, les ambiances surréalistes, le tout dans un confort absolu. “Absolutely everything!!! Fantastic location, great facilities and wonderful hosts who couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay.” - We only had one night booked as we arrived late in the afternoon and had to be away early the next morning to visit Mesa Verde. We could have easily stayed for a few days as the lodge was so nice and had all the amenities you could ask for. Michael – Doveridge GB Aug. 2012

“Bob en Sue waren erg gastvrij en vriendelijk. Het huis is echt in amerikaanse stijl en om een nacht bij Amerikanen in huis te overnachten en 's ochtends aan de ontbijttafel met elkaar te praten is een echte verrijking voor je vakantie!! De omgeving rondom het huis is fantastisch” Rene – Netherlands Aug. 2012

Quiet, friendly,

Beautifully furnished B&B located between Cortez (Mesa Verde National Park) and Durango (narrow guage railroad to Silverton). Very comfortable, great breakfasts, and hosts Sue and Bob could not have been nicer people to be with.

Comfortable and Friendly

Our stay with Bob and Sue Scott of Sundance Bear Lodge was one of the best experiences we have had in our years of traveling the U.S. It was just a bonus that it was our first family stay in a B&B (we have a just-turned-teen son). The great location in the four-corners area, the funky little town of Mancos, the wonderful breakfasts and conversation, and the quiet solitude of the property – everything was just about perfect. Get away from it all, or stay connected to the world (as I had to do given my research job and the Gulf oil spill effects). Visit the National Parks and Monuments within an easy days road venture, or explore the canyons on the 80+acre Sundance property. While we stayed in the main lodge for four nights, they also have a separate cabin and a guest house if that is more to your liking. In short, everything mentioned in the previous reviews was spot on. Given the opportunity, we will certainly be returning for another visit.

Wonderful property and location!

A friend and i stayed in the SDB 2 bedroom cabin and loved it! Bob and Sue are wonderful, we lacked nothing. The cabin was comfortable, affordable, quiet, and had great views of the Mesa. Highly recommended and would go again in a minute!

destination

The Sundance Bear Lodge is not just a place to stay, but a destination in its self. Go for the ambiance of the lodge, the surroundings, the hospitality of your hosts, Bob and Sue, and the gourmet breakfasts. Whether you go out exploring or stay in, a memorable experience awaits you.

Relaxed Comfort

A relaxed, family atmosphere (two friendly pooches complimenting two most hospitable hosts); fine victuals; a beautiful setting; and the most thorough listing of useful guidance and suggestions encountered in any B&B on our 8,834.6 mile journey around the USA. We recommend Sundance Bear Lodge without hesitation. Sally and Ted Briggs, Norfolk, CT

Stunning

Hi Sue & Bob, This is Heather writing as we have just got back to the UK. Yes we are the ones who pitched up when we thought we were staying up the road! I just wanted to write and thank you for making us feel so welcome in your wonderful home. The log cabin was stunning. Other people are right - it is hard to get a real sense of just how stunning this location is from photos. We loved everything about it - the furnishings, the comfort, the beautiful views from the (three) decks, the rustling of the aspen trees and the closeness to nature. We slept the best here of anywhere on our vacation and loved the walks on the surrounding land. We have all fallen in love with SW Colorado! Thank you for being such gracious hosts and for being so generous with your time and your home. We hope to be back soon With very best wishes Heather, Daniel & Alex Cardwell North Yorkshire, UK

Absolutely Fantastic B&B

Bob and Sue made our most recent vacation feel like a home away from home. Their hospitality is second to none. I give my highest recommendation to the Sundance Bear Lodge. I will visit it again.

Perfect as its own destination and/or as home base to visit Mesa Verde, Durango, Telluride. Bob and Sue's hospitality offered a great balance of privacy and good company. Amenities were all you could ask for and more!
