Romantic

Even though I wasn't there for a romantic getaway; this would be the perfect place as most of the guests we met were there celebrating an anniversary. We were greeted with a welcome tray of goodies in our room and had tea with more delightful extras. We chose to eat in the less formal dining room with portions more than generous and delicious. They will keep your leftovers in the fridge until you leave; so we were able to enjoy the many choices of desserts without finishing our meal. You could even have that brought to your room if you wanted. There are both an inside and outside pool and tried both. The inn is so full of antiques from all over the world and surprises in every nook and cranny. Spend more than one day to see it all. You truly felt as you were visiting at Tara and being pampered in every way possible complete with all in period clothes. We stayed in the "I'll think about it tomorrow" room and couldn't have asked for any nicer. I liked that you could see into the rooms not occupied. I suggest that you choose the getaway package which includes everything including tipping. Many places to sit and relax both inside and out. Make sure you start your day with the best breakfast I've probably had in a B&B. It is everything you see online and more for an incredible value.

The Perfect Romantic Escape

If you are looking for the perfect romantic escape, this beautiful inn is the place. I love historic homes and have always loved "Gone With The Wind" - this beautiful inn pays lux tribute to the film and all its Southern charm. We stayed in the Garden Suite, the original master bedroom of the 1854 mansion. And loved every minute of our getaway - the sophisticated decor, the cozy fireplace, the pristine bath, the friendly "welcome home" service and gourmet menu... every detail was exceptional. Tara is a perfect fit for that relaxing weekend escape. It met all my expectations and more.

True Romance within your reach

This is a beautiful and romantic Inn and so much more. It is the perfect place to celebrate you anniversary, birthday or just a get-a-way weekend for two. We have visited Tara 14 times since our first visit in 1993. The Inn steeped in the theme of Gone With The Wind is breathtaking from the moment you step into the front hallway. Each room has a cozy fireplace and jacuzzi tub. The food and service are excellent. Tara sets a standard that we have come to use as a measure for other accomodations. The people at Tara will make feel like you have arrived at the romantic version of home.

Grand, Historic Beauty and Luxury

This beautiful civil war-era mansion sits on rolling manicured grounds to walk and enjoy. Its Gone with the Wind theme includes very cool memorabilia, along with an abundant and fascinating civil war-era collection. The rooms are roomy, and comfortable, each with a Gone with the Wind name and all but a couple having in-room jacuzzis. The gourmet restaurant is delicious in all its courses, and its other restaurant has impeccable food and choices. The staff is delightful and attentive. Highly recommended, all around.
