2013 Taste Washington: Where to Stay

Eat, drink, and learn at the nation’s largest single-region food and wine event. Taste Washington will be held at CenturyLink Field Event Center March 23 and 24, 2013 where you can sample wines from more than 250 wineries and try food from 50 Seattle restaurants. Be sure to plan to attend a seminar or demonstration lead by a sommelier of chef while there. Tickets go on sale December 5 but you can reserve an inn in the Seattle area now to make the most of the event.

Attending both days of the event? Reserve a room at the Bacon Mansion Bed and Breakfast or the Bed and Breakfast Inn of Seattle in the trendy Capitol Hill neighborhood to be close to the action. You’ll be close to downtown, the University District, and all of the attractions of the city.  Look outside Seattle to explore other parts of the state and still be able to enjoy the festival. Ocean Shores Gibson’s Bed and Breakfast, Foxbridge Inn, Cozy Rose Inn, Cherry Chalet, and Willcox House are all close enough for a day trip.

Bacon Mansion Bed and Breakfast is in a residential part of the city two blocks from the Broadway District and Volunteer Park. Nine guest rooms can be found in the Main House or you can reserve both the Suite and Loft Room in the Carriage House to have a private group getaway with friends or family. The inn boasts original woodwork, a 3,000 crystal chandelier, and a marble fireplaces.

Stay in the middle of the city yet enjoy views of Mt. Rainier at the Bed and Breakfast Inn of Seattle. Want to try something you learned in a festival cooking demonstration? Guests have full use of the gourmet kitchen. Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Cascade Mountains from your room.

Enjoy the festival as well as canal views near the Pacific Ocean with a stay at Ocean Shores Gibson’s Bed and Breakfast in Ocean Shores. Celebrate the holidays all year long in the Tivoli Christmas room and plan to watch any of 200 movies in the 15-seat Taholah theater. Birdwatch from the private dock or take the pedal boat out for a ride. Consider booking all four guest rooms to explore Taste Washington with your family or best friends.

Enclosed by evergreen trees on five private acres in Poulsbo, the Foxbridge Inn feels worlds away from Seattle. Sit by the picture window overlooking the backyard in the Old World Room or stay in the serene Seaside Room, a private oasis, then indulge in bananas foster over pancakes or French toast before venturing over to the festival.

Stroll through vineyards and orchards at Cozy Rose Inn in Grandview where you can stay in the Villa Vista Jacuzzi Suite and have breakfast delivered to a private roof top deck. All guest offer fireplaces. Enjoy a romantic candlelit breakfast but also make time to visit with the resident llamas, Chocolate and Stubborn. Now through March 2013, you can stay two nights and get the third night free.

Taste another homegrown product of the state at Cherry Chalet located on a 20-acre cherry farm in Kennewick. The chef uses cherries and apricots from the property in the gourmet breakfasts served en suite each morning. When you return from the festival, relax on the outdoor patio watching the koi swim lazily in the pond while listening to the soothing sounds of a waterfall.

Arrive via boat or seaplane and use the private dock at the Willcox House in Seabeck. The Hood Canal and Olympic Mountains can be seen from all five guest rooms. Clark Gable once stayed here and the guest room named after him offers a private balcony. Stay at least two nights between March 1 and May 20, 2013, order dinner one night and receive the second night free.
