Description
Circa 1790. A French mansard roof sits atop this three-story country inn and tavern known for its excellent cuisine and gracious hospitality. Located halfway between York and Gettysburg, it is on an old Conestoga route. The spacious guest rooms offer high ceilings and chestnut woodwork. Whirlpool tubs add pleasure to several deluxe rooms. On the third floor, one room offers a sunroom with a deck and hot tub while another includes a comfy sofa, an extra-large whirlpool tub and a kitchenette. The inn's two restaurants present a variety of house specialties. The Underside Pub & Eatery has a more casual atmosphere serving sandwiches as well as entrees, while the Berwick Room Restaurant is noted for more elegant cuisine. A popular Sunday brunch buffet is served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Golf and Getaway packages are available, some including wine and dinner.
